Won’t You Be My Neighbor?

Today is Mister Rogers Birthday!

Fred McFeely Rogers (March 20, 1928-February 27, 2003) was an American educator, Presbyterian minister, songwriter, author and television host. Fred Rogers was best known for his creating and hosting Mister Rogers Neighborhood. Mister Rogers Neighborhood always featured Mister Roger’s gentle, soft spoken personality and directions to his audience.

Here is a picture of  my daughter Megan’s favorite make believe characters on the show, Henrietta pussycat and X the Owl.

For more than 30 years, Fred Rogers helped children value their uniqueness, appreciate others and marvel at the wonders of the world around them.  Quite commendable if you ask me.

Mr McFeely, the postman, was really named after Fred Rogers real grandfather.
