Technique Week, Friday: Embossing Seam Binding…

Technique Week: Day 5

With all of Stampin’ Up!’s great Embossing Folders, we know we can add amazing dimension to card stock. But, did you know you can emboss ribbon as well? Well, you can! I tested this technique out on several types of ribbon and they all work, but Seam Binding works the best; giving you a clear, deep embossed design.

Embossed Seam Binding

For this technique I chose Crumb Cake Seam Binding.

1.    Cut a piece of Seam Binding long enough to do what it is intended for, to wrap around card or to make a bow.

2.    Run the Seam Binding under water Embossing Crumb Cake Seam Binding

3.    Place wet Seam Binding in an Embossing Folder of choice ( I used Petals-A-Plenty) and run it through the Big Shot.  You might have to do a section at a time.

4.    Let the Embossed Seam Binding dry.

5.    Either use the Embossed Seam Binding to wrap around a card or tie a bow and adhere to project with a glue dot.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this Technique Week. If you have a technique you’d like me to explain, either leave me a comment here, on Facebook or EMAIL it to me.

Have a great weekend!
