Technique Week, Thursday: Resist Stamping…

Technique Week, Day 4

Resist Stamping is a simple technique, which allows any stamped image to show through when color is applied over the stamped image.

Resist Technique

To achieve this look:

Stamp an image on Glossy card stock in VersaMark.

Sprinkle Clear Embossing Powder over the image and heat the image with a Heat Tool until the powder completely melts.

Use Sponge Daubers and various ink pad colors to apply color over the stamped image. A Brayer can be used as well. When using several colors I prefer the Sponge Daubers. Experiment.

Wipe off excess ink from the image with a tissue.

Colors used in this tutorial: Concord Crush, Wisteria Wonder, Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight and VersMark

Stamp set used: Fabulous Florets

Paper used: Glossy White Card Stock

Other: Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Sponge Daubers

Tip Button Instead of using stamped images, draw your own design with a VersaMark Marker. Then use a Brayer or Sponge Daubers to add color.

Brayer or dab on color before you heat emboss and these colors will show through the subsequent layer of color.
