From the Herd: Looking in on You

From the Herd Header

Today’s share is using the From the Herd stamp set. I made this card for Max who is recuperating from her fourth foot surgery; the poor dear. The minute my eyes gazed (Pun intended!) upon this set, I know I had to have it. I have a few more techniques using this stamp set. To make this fun card just keep on reading to learn how.

From the Herd Final

Here’s the “Show Me the Way”:

CARD~STOCK: Chocolate Chip cut one piece at 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″ and one piece at 4-1/4″ x 3-1/2″.  And, cut a 4-1/2″ x  4″ piece of Whisper White. Please note the layers don’t produce equal borders. The card base side borders are wider as is the bottom of the Whisper White layer.

TECHNIQUE: On the 4-1/4″ x 3-1/2″ piece of Chocolate Chip card stock stamp the “Herd” image in VersaMark, sprinkle on White Embossing Powder and heat set it.  Once the White Embossed image has cooled down and set, take an alcohol  marker and simply color over the white embossed lines. Use any colors you seem fit.  I did!

From the Herd Chicken Detail

THE SENTIMENT: The From the Herd set has nine different sentiments. I chose the, “Just looking in on you” sentiment and inked it up in Marina Mist. I wanted to connect the blue on the bird and the chicken/rooster.

And, that’s the way you do it!

Heading to Boston for a wedding tomorrow. Don’t you just love weddings?

Until Monday, happy Stamping.

Embrace the day!

Operation Write Home: Thinking of You Card

Thinking of You Header

Here’s a perfect card for our troops to send to a loved one back here at home.

This is a cute and heartfelt, “Thinking of You” card.

Thinking of you 2

Thinking of You DetailA  card base was cut at 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ and scored at 4-14″. Designer Series Paper was cut at 5″ x 3-3/4″. A large Scallop Circle was cut out of Perfect Plum Card Stock. On a scrap of Whisper White Card Stock the bird and nest image was from the For the Birds Stamp Set was stamped in Baked Brown Sugar Ink. The image was then punched using the smaller Scallop Circle Punch. Before everything was adhered and layered, a piece of Baker’s Twine was wrapped around the Designer Series Paper. On the stamped image Basic Rhinestones were added for a little bling.

Please note, When making cards for our troops, NO GLITTER is allowed.

See you soon!

Hugs,
