Welcome back Stampers and Paper-Artists!
Today’s card colors gets me really excited for the warmer days approaching. Although they seem to be taking their time getting here. This is a nice way to use your motif, elements or even floral stamps.
This technique turns any card background into designer series paper. The top background on the Very Vanilla Card Stock, was actually a stamped motif from the Stampin’ Up! Bliss Stamp Set. Pear Pizzazz Ink was used and stamped in a random pattern to resemble designer series paper.
Here’s exactly what to do:
Cut Regal Rose Card Stock at 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ and score it at 4-1/4″
Very Vanilla at 5″ x 3-3/4″
Pawsitively Prints II Designer Series Paper at 3-3/4″ x 2″
On scrap pieces of Very Vanilla, stamp the butterfly and flower from the Bliss Stamp set in Regal Rose Ink Cut out the butterfly and flowers.
Layer the piece of designer series paper over the Very Vanilla. Around this wrap a piece of 5/8″ Regal Rose Grosgrain Ribbon. On one end fold the ribbon over to form a loop. With a Glue Dot, glue the loop to hold it in place. Behind the first loop make another loop and glue that one. Proceed in this manner until the number of loops you want are completed. Make sure when you initially cut your ribbon you have enough to make as many loops as needed. Be careful not to get the glue dots on the top of the ribbon like I did. Nobody’s perfect!
On a scrap of Regal Rose, stamp, “Happy Birthday” from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set in Versa Mark and sprinkle on White Embossing Powder. Heat it with a Heat Tool, punch it out with the Designer Label Punch. Tuck the “Happy Birthday” in the Hodgepodge Designer Label Holder Hardware. (Whoo that’s a mouthful!) Attach it with two brads.
Layer the card as shown and adhere the cut-out butterfly and flowers with Dinmensionals.
Don’t forget to check out my “ARTrageous” Kids Summer Camp. If you’re not local, these projects will be for sale in the Fall. The projects will be in PDF form, complete with directions and photos, for you to make at home or in a class.
Thanks for stopping by and I’ll see you next time when I’ll share a masculine card with you, perfect for a birthday or Father’s Day! TTFN.
