How Sweet it is Snow Globe…

I wanted to try my hand at doing a snow globe made out of the Sweet Treat Cups for a few months. Here’s the first design I came up with I know I could have used my Big Shot and the Shapers and Movers Die but I was experimenting with this first so I used my 1-3/4″ Circle Punch. Please check back in the near future for more designs.

Here’s what I did:

On a piece of 3″ x 3″ Bashful Blue Card Stock I took a piece of Whisper White Card Stock, about a 1″x 2″ strip, tore it to resemble snow and adhered it to the Bashful Blue. I then stamped in Versa Mark the deer from the Stampin’ UpWinter Post Stamp Set and embossed it with Gold Embossing Powder. Using my Eyelet Border Punch I punched out one strip and saved the excess dots that fell off. With Tombo Liquid Glue and a toothpick I carefully glued the dots onto the sky area to look like snowflakes. Then with my 1-3/4″ Circle Punch I punched the whole scene out.  Out of Very Vanilla Card Stock I cut a piece measuring 3-1/4″ x 4-1/2″ and centered the 1-3/4″ Circle Punch and punched out a circle. On a 3-1/2 x 4-3/4″ piece of Real Red Card Stock I adhered the deer scene to line up with the circle I punched out on the Very Vanilla piece of Card Stock. On the back of the Very Vanilla I placed the Sweet Treat Cup and filled it with Dazzling Diamonds only to find out it was almost impossible to line the filled cup with the deer scene without the Dazzling Diamonds going literally all over the place! I decided to pour the Dazzling Diamonds over the scene and then adhere the Sweet Treat Cup and the Very Vanilla Card Stock over it.  See the photos below:

The deer scene was adhered onto the Real Red Card Stock to line up with the circle punched out of the Very Vanilla Card Stock then I poured the Dazzling Diamonds over the deer scene as follows:

Here I placed the Sweet Treat Cup over the deer scene:

On the Very Vanilla Card Stock, in Versa Mark, I stamped the ornament topper from the Sweet Centers Stamp Set and embossed it with Silver Embossing Powder. I punched a circle in the middle of the hook part of the image and threaded a piece of Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon  through  it. I then adhered the Very Vanilla Card Stock over the Sweet Treat Cup.

To finish I adhered the Real Red, Sweet Cup and Very Vanilla layer onto a 5-1/2″ x 6-1/2″ piece of Handsome Hunter Card Stock which was scored at 4-1/4″. On a strip 0f 3-3/4″ x 3/4″ of Handsome Hunter Card Stock in Versa Mark I stamped “Peace on Earth” from the Four the Holiday Stamp Set.

Thanks once again for stopping by!

How Sweet It Is Bookmarks…

Here is the bookmarks I made for the Sweet Treat Cup Halloween card. I made lots for my daughter to pass out o Halloween. These are very easy and fast and any design, theme or holiday can be incorporated. I will be posting different ones soon. These make great party favors also.

Stamp Sets:  Halloween Hoot
Home is Where the Haunt Is (retired)
                        Little Boo

Paper:  Basic Black Card Stock ( 2″ x 4 1/4″)
Green Galore , Only Orange and Lavender Lace Card Stock  (1 1/2″ x 4″)

This is one bookmark I made specifically for the halloween Sweet Centers card. I stamped the “Little Boo” ghost, punched him out and adhered him so that after the candy was removed, he would show up in the middle of the Clear Sweet Centers Cup

For this book mark I used the Scallop Circle Punch and adhered Snail Adhesive to only the sides so a lollipop could be inserted. I made these for my daughter Meg to hand out where she works for trick-or-treaters. After the lollipop is long gone they still have the bookmark to use.

Sweet Rewards……

This card was made using Stampin’ Up!’s Sweet Center Cups from the Holiday Mini Catalog. I made the card with a movable bookmark so you could get at the without destroying the card. The bookmark simply pulls up to reveal the candy on the inside cover of the card. You can fill the cup with candy, confetti and even tiny trinkets. I saw only one other version of this card and I did not copy or case it. It’s just that great minds must truly think alike.

Here’s what I did:

I Cut a 12″ x 12″ sheet of Pumpkin Pie Card Stock in half to measure 12″ x 6″. No need to score because when you run the Card Stock through The Big Shot using the Shapers and Movers Die it atomatically will cut your paper to 12″ x 4 1/4″ for the card and score it. It’s a wonderful feature and comes out perfect every time!

Using the Sweet Centers Stampin Up Stamp Set I stamped the Halloween square in Lavender Lace Ink on Whisper White Card Stock. I cut out the image adding a 1/4″ border all around the image. The size is 3 1/4″ x 3 1/8″.

Then I cut a piece Basic Black Card Stock to measure 3 1/2″ x 3 3/8″.

I ran the Whisper White Card Stock through The Big Shot using the movable circle die. I cut a piece of the Stampin’ Up! Grid paper to help me line up the image with the circle die so the cut was exactly where the circle should be cut on the stamped image. It’s so simple and here’s what I did:

Once the circle was cut from the stamped image I adhered the Basic Black Card Stock to the back. I then, with the image side down lined up the cut out part over the circle die. It grips because you have it cut out with the Basic Black Card Stock as a backing. I ran both pieces the Whisper White and Basic Black Card Stock through The Big Shot again. Not moving the circle die I also ran the Pumpkin Pie piece of card stock through.

Here is a close up of the inside of the card with the bookmark pulled half way up to reveal the goodies inside the sweet centers.

Because the Sweet Treat Cups are clear I punched on Basic Black a circle with my 1 3/8″ Cirle Punch, lined up the Scallop Circle Punch over the 1 3/8″ inch hole, punched it and made the scalloped black border for the cup. Using the Photo Corners Punch I cut out two and adhered them to two corners of the card.

Look for the bookmark directions and more sweet rewards projects soon. “How Sweet It Is!”
