Field of Flowers Birthday Card…

Breat Cancer Ribbon Button

Featured is a birthday card I made using the Field of Flowers stamp set for my cousin Linda.  I chose Wisteria Wonder, because Linda loves that Stampin’ Up! in- color. I kept the card a bit earthy and tried to give the card a natural with a sophisticated feel, just like Linda.

For Linda’s birthday card I decided to make a 5″ x 7″ card. I started by cutting a 10″ x 7″ piece of Wisteria Wonder card stock and scored it at 5″.

I cut a 4-1/2″ x 6-1/2″ piece of Berry Blossoms Designer Series Paper and layered it to the Wisteria Wonder card base. I love the way this paper pops off the Wisteria Wonder just enough.

A 3-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Early Espresso was cut for the next layer. I chose to use the Early Espresso, because it works well as a background color for the field flowers.

From the same package of designer series paper I chose the Early Espresso dot pattern. This I cut at 3-1/4 x 5-1/4″, just big enough to let the Early Espresso peek through.

On a piece of Whisper White card stock, I stamped the field flowers in Wisteria Wonder and Early Espresso, using the two step stampin’ method. To line up the stamped image I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig. Here’s the Two-Step Method:

Technique: Two-Step Stampin’

1]   Stamp the base image.

2]   Position and stamp the overlay or adjoining image.

QUICK TIP
Use lighter ink for the base image and darker ink for the overlying image.

Once the flowers were stamped, I cut them out. I then stamped stems and leaves in Lucky Limeade Ink and cut them out as well.

For the “Happy Birthday Wishes,” I stamped the message in VersaMark, sprinkled on White Embossing Powder and heat set it with a Heat Tool. The message is from Stampin’ Up! Petite Pairs stamp set which gives you 18 petite paired messages. These are nice, because they aren’t too large and can be tucked in almost anywhere on a card. I punched out the massage with an Oval Punch and layered it on to a Whisper White Scallop Oval.

Instead of a bow, I did a series of tucks with Ruffled Wisteria Wonder Ribbon. I adhered the tucks with Glue Dots.

So, there you have a Field of Flowers Birthday Card.

Happy Birthday Linda!
