Petite Petals Rainbow Birthday Card

Petite Flowers HeaderWelcome back stampers!

Today’s share is a FUN card indeed. I call it the Petite Petals Rainbow Card  , because it’s just that! The flowers are from the Stampin’ Up! Petite Petals Stamp Set and how nice is it that there’s a matching punch? Now this card can be made using any single image you want to use. Just stamp the image in different colors for the rainbow effect.

This is a pretty straight-forward card to make.

1. Cut a  piece of Whisper White, at 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″ and cut the top layer at 4-3/4″ x 3-1/2″

2. For the middle layer cut a 5″ x 3-3/4″ piece of Strawberry Slush. The Strawberry Slush makes all of the colors on the card really pop, without it being too matchie!

3. Stamp a flower or other image in the colors you want on to a scrap of Whisper White . For this card I used Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Summer Starfruit (R), Gumball Green (R), Marina Mist and Wisteria Wonder. I also stamped a few flowers in Strawberry Slush to wrap around the greeting banner.

4. Once the flowers were stamped I used the Petite Petals punch for a perfect cutout of the flowers.

5. For the small banners below the flowers, I used coordinating card stock to the ink colors and with the Banner Punch I punched out one banner for each flower.

6. The large banners were cut using the BIG Shot and Banner Framelit Dies. I cut the large banner out of Strawberry Slush and the smaller banner from Whisper White card stock.

7. On the Whisper White I stamped the, “Happy Birthday”  greeting in Strawberry Slush Ink.

8. I layered the banners as the detail shows and surrounded the banner with the Strawberry Slush flowers.

9. Next, I tied a neat little bow made out of Bakers Twine and tucked it in between the flowers.

10.  I adhered each flower to it’s matching card stock banner, then placed them evenly across the bottom of the card.

11. To finish off this Rainbow card, I placed a matching Candy Dot in the center of each flower.

And, speaking of rainbows and cotton candy skies…

Priceless Birthday Card: For Freddie…

Today is Freddie’s birthday. Here is the last birthday card of the week I’m sharing with you.

Freddie's Birthday Card

For this card I simply punched three circles out of Designer Series Paper and folded them, so two ends met in the middle. Out of Garden Green card stock I cut three triangles and with Tombow Glue I adhered them to the bottom of the flowers.  I stamped a motif to represent stems and leaves.  Then I stamped up a butterfly, punched it out and placed in in the upper left corner. We used this technique in a class and everyone loved it. See what you can come up with. Switch out the colors and use different size circles, for different size flowers.

Happy Birthday Freddie!

Baby Blossoms: Janet’s Birthday Card…

For my girlfriend Janet’s birthday, I chose the Stampin’ Up! retired stamp set, Baby Blossoms for her birthday card. Janet loves red, white and black. This is one of Janet’s favorite color combinations, hence the Real Red, Whisper White and Basic Black birthday card.

Janet's Birthday Card
Baby Blossoms stamp set is a Two-Step Stampin’  stamp set and here is how that technique is done.

Janet's Birthday Card DetailTechnique: Two-Step Stampin’

1]   Stamp the base image. I used Regal Rose Ink.

2]   Position and stamp the overlay or adjoining image. I used Real Red Ink.

Use lighter ink for the base image and darker ink for the overlying image.

Happy Birthday Janet!

Meg’s Birthday Cards…

These are the birthday cards I made for my daughter Meg.

For the first one I did the following:

I cut a piece of  5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ Pixie Pink Card Stock  and scored it at 4-1/4″, a piece of 5″ x 3-3/4″ Whisper White Card Stock, a piece of 4-3/4″ x 3-1/2″ Green Galore Card Stock and last a piece of 4-1/2″ x 3-1/4″ of Whisper White Card Stock. I centered using my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig and stamped the cupcake tier from the Crazy for Cupcakes Stamp Set in Basic Black Ink. I colored the cupcakes with my Stampin’ Up! Markers. For the frosting on the cupcakes I painted them with the new Shimmer Frost White Ink and an Aqua Painter. After coloring in the cherries I carefully placed a drop of Crystal Effects on each one. I stamped the greeting from the Birthday Bliss Stamp Set in Basic Black Ink on Whisper White Card Stock  and punched it out with the 1″ Square Punch. With my Square Scallop Punch I punched a square out of Pixie Pink Card Stock. I wrapped a piece of Black Gingham Ribbon around the 4-1/2″ x 3-3/4″ piece of Whisper White Card Stock and layered everything together.

This is an enlargement of the Shimmer Frost White Ink cupcakes:

This is the second card I made. I actually made it fro scraps of Retired Designer Series Paper I had in my scrap box. The stamp set I used is All Wrapped Up Stamp Set (retired). This one I posted just for eye candy without giving a lot of detail. Gotta go and thanks for visiting!
