Build~A~Bow Treat Holders: The Perfect Wedding Favor

Jill &Jeff's HeaderJack & Jill 5-2-15We attended a wedding in Boston over last weekend and it was so much fun. It was held in a bowling alley! You heard me right–a bowling alley. The bowling lanes were old and so were the “Candlestick” bowling pins and wooden bowling balls. They had an open bar, flat~bread pizza and everyone was a part of the fun. Today casual weddings seem to be the new trend.

Candy tables are a big part of almost all celebrations these days, so for the wedding favors I made the cute Build~A~Bow Treat Holders. I featured HERE  For Valentine’s Day. I switched up the colors to match the invitations I made in Daffodil Delight. Here’s a photo of Jill kissing her nephew, our Grandson Jack, or as we like to say, “Jack & Jill!”

You can click on the link above or here’s the “Show Me the Way”

1. Cut a 2″ x 6″ piece of Daffodil Delight Card Stock  and score at 2-1/2″ and 3-1/2″, Crease the score lines with a Bone Folder. These score lines will be the bottom of the treat bag.

2. Take each end of the treat bag and punch them one at a time with the Ornate Tag Topper Punch.

3. Stack two pieces of Hershey Nuggets. Hold them together with a Glue Dot. Place another Glue Dot on the bottom to hold them in place in the treat holder

4. Place a few Glue Dots to hold the top of the treat bag together. You can also hold it together by threading a piece of ribbon through the tag topper hole. I chose not to use ribbon, because I wanted this little paper bow to shine.

5. To make the perfect little bow for the perfect wedding favor, simply use the Build~A~Bow Punch. I used various Designer Series Papers having Daffodil Delight in them and proceeded to make many, many, many bows! Did I mention many?

6. I computer generated the text for the 1″ x 2″ labels and trimmed them with my Paper Trimmer. The bows and labels were affixed with Glue Dots and Dimensionals.

I have to be honest with you, I had everything done for these Build~A~Bow Treat Holders, except for the Baker’s Twine Bows. I worked on those in the car on our way to Boston and finished them about 15 minutes before we arrived. It was close!
