Love & Affection: Any Occasion Card

Love & Affection Header

Hello Stampers and Paper Artists!

I know it’s been a long time since I’ve posted. I have to tell you I’ve missed it and was hoping to have my new designed blog up and running, but it’s taking me longer than I anticipated, so for now I’ll get back to posting here.

First, I would like to tell you I’ve been working on a few E-Books and they are finished!!! I’m not making them available until the new Lakeside Stamper blog is up. So, you all have something to look forward to.

Today’s share is one of the cards we made at my Everything Floral Workshop using the very new Stampin’ Up! Love & Affection Stamp Set and one of the new 2016-18 In-Colors, Dapper Denim! Pure love…

Love & Affection

Here’s the “How To” for this simple Love & Affection Card:

Card Stock and Cutting Dimensions:

  1. Dapper Denim: 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″  scored at 4-1/4″
  2. 2. Crumb Cake: 3-1/4″ x 5-1/2″  This dimension is the same size as the card front with no borders. It should line up edge to edge
  3. Line up, along one edge of the Crumb Cake layer, the long leaf die from the Botanical Builder Framelits. Run it through the BIG Shot.

Stamping:Love & Affection Recipe

  1. Ink up four different stamps from the Love and Affection Stamp Set with Dapper Denim Ink and on the piece of Crumb Cake, randomly stamp the images.

  1. Now simply adhere the Crumb Cake layer on to the Dapper Denim card base and you are done! This card can be used vertically or horizontally. Send it in a Crumb Cake  envelope, stamped up as well, and you’re good to mail it to someone special.

It’s good to be back!

Painted Petals: You’re Amazingly Amazing Card

Painted Petals Header Amazing

Well, well, well! It seems as though I can’t get enough of this Stampin’ Up! Painted Petals Stamp Set! This card we made at my January Workshop. Again, I chose to use Smokey Slate, Whisper White and Pink Pirouette combination. Call me sentimental!

Painted Petals Amazing Card

Here’s what to do:

1. Cut an A-2 horizontal card base at 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5-1/2″ from Smokey Slate Card Stock

2. Cut two  5″ x 3-3/4″ and one 4-1/2″ x 3-1/4″ piece from Whisper White Card Stock. One of the 5″ x 3-3/4” pieces is for the inside of the card.

3. On the smaller piece of Whisper White Card Stock stamp the stem and leaves image first in Mossy Meadow. I found it easier to line up the flowers to the stem, then the other way around. Placement of the stem should be somewhat on the top and to the left.

4. Then go ahead and Ink up the flowers image in Strawberry Slush Ink. Line up the flowers on the stem before stamping. Don’t worry about getting a solid inked image with the flowers. The variegation is nice and shows off the canvas or cross hatched texture. You’ll see it if you look closely at my card,

5. Next, stamp the “Amazing” greeting in Smokey Slate Ink. Tuck the greeting on the card where it fits best. Make sure to leave enough room to wrap the ribbon along the bottom of the card.

6. Wrap a piece of Basic Grey Stitched Ribbon across the bottom. Tack it down with a few Glue Dots. Wait on the bow until you have all the card layers adhered.

7. Now adhere all the card stock layers together.

8. Make a separate bow and adhere it with another Glue Dot.

9. Place Basic Rhinestones in the flower centers.

You’re done!

FYI ButtonThe Painted Petals Stamp Set is a Photopolymer set, which by the way is my favorite kind of stamp. Unlike the “clear” stamps the photopolymer stamps are not only transparent, so you can see where you’re stamping, hence perfect placement, but they’re also etched wonderfully deep! The top-quality photopolymer has just enough give to create a perfectly stamped image every time and is well-suited for Stampin’ Up!’s firm-foam pads.
