For the Birds: Cards in a Box

Hello and Hello, Stampers!

For the Birds Stamp Set

Today's share, For the Birds: cards in a box, is a project that was not only fun to make, but it's fun to give as a gift. If you can stand to give it away. Anyone who knows me and my love for birds knows the Stampin' Up! set, For the Birds (126405), is one of my favorites.  When I saw it I knew I just had to have it!

I think what makes this project so special is not only the stamp set, but the size of the cards.  See what I mean…

For the Birds

To start take a 12" x 12" piece of Whisper White Card Stock and cut eight 3" x 6" pieces and score them at 3"  You'll have eight 3" x 3" cards.  These cards fit perfectly in the Stampin' Up! 3-1/8" x 3-1/8" Square Envelopes (107309).

Choose a Designer Series Paper you love and cut eight 2-3/4" x 2-3/4" pieces. I used the Sycamore Street Designer Series.

Punch out eight Large Scallop Circles from Whisper White Card Stock and on each one stamp one image from the For the Birds Stamp Set.

Color in the images with pencil. If your images are stamped with Stazon or Basic Black Craft Ink you can use markers to color them in.

Distress the edges with a Sponge Dauber and Ink.  Layer the parts together and embellish with Basic Pearls and Rhinestones.

And, this is what you'll wind up with:

Place the cards in a pretty plastic box, found on the internet, for safe keeping or to present as a gift.  What could be For the Birdsnicer?
