Oh, the joys of making a masculine card! I find making cards for males a real challenge, so when I do come up with a design I like to share it. No bows on this card, but I did manage to sneak in a little, “Bling!” Shh…
Supplies & Sizes for this card:
Sweet Cake Stamp Set
4-1/4″ x 11″ piece of Pacific Point Card Stock and scored at 5-1/2″
5″ x 3-3/4″ piece of Crumb Cake Card Stock
2-1/2″ x 3-1/4″ piece of Berry Blossoms Designer Series Paper
Scrap piece of Very Vanilla Card Stock for stamping
4-1/2″ piece of Pacific Point Grosgrain Ribbon
Stripped and Square Lattice Embossing Folders
Ticket Corner Punch
Real Red, Pacific Point, River Rock and Early Espresso Markers
Three Chocolate Chip Brads
Start by sending the top half of Crumb Cake through the Big Shot, with the Stripped Embossing Folder.
Then on the bottom half, send the piece of Crumb Cake through the Big Shot again, but this time use the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.
Ink up the stamp from the Sweet Cake Stamp Set with the River Rock, Pacific Point, Real Red and Early Espresso Markers as shown. Stamp, “Happy Birthday” in Pacific Point. Cut out the stamped image and add Dazzling Details on the frosting and Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details on the cherry and heart. Place it aside to dry.
Take the Designer Series Paper, Crumb Cake and the card base and with the Ticket Punch, punch all corners.
Wrap the piece of Pacific Point Ribbon around the Crumb Cake.
Piece three holes for brad placement and add the Brads.
Adhere all layers as shown. Make sure your Dazzling Details is dry!
And there you have it! Remember, when it comes to making masculine cards make it simple and textured. These are the key ingredients
If you want the SWEET CAKE STAMP SET order it before it goes away on April 30.
