Sale-A-Bration: Lotus Blossom Sympathy

This is a sympathy card I made for the family of a friend from years past.  Eileen was a neighbor of ours. who moved. Last month Eileen passed away after a long battle with cancer. This new Lotus Blossom Stamp Set allowed me to play around with the Lotus’ color. The combination I used reminded me of Eileen.

Here’s What I Did:

The card base was a 10″ x 7″ piece of Blackberry Bliss scored at 5″ (for a 5″ x 7″ card)

A 4-1/2″ x 6-1/2″ piece of Wisteria Wonder was cut for the first layer

For the card panel a 2-3/4″ x 5-3/4″ piece of Wild Wasabi and a 2-1/2″ x 5-1/8″ of Whisper White was cut

On the Whisper White Card Stock I stamped the stem from the Lotus Blossom set in Wild Wasabi and the, “Thinking of You” sentiment, from the Good Greetings stamp set in Blackberry Bliss Ink.

On a scrap piece of Whisper White I played around with different color combinations. I finally decided to use Blackberry Bliss and Wisteria Wonder. I cut the Lotus flower out. I stamped this on a separate piece of Whisper White, because I wanted to adhere it with Dimensionals, so it stood on it’s own.

Before I layered and adhered everything I wrapped a piece of 1/4″ Whisper White Cotton Ribbon around the Wisteria Wonder.
