Potted Flowers…

DSC_0504

Good Day, Lakeside Stampers!  As promised here is another card from my Garden Workshop. This  “Flower Pot Card” has been floating around the internet for about a year and I have wanted to try one for about that long. I did not use anyone’s template. This template I created because I wanted a smaller flower pot in height. You can really make them as big or small as your paper will allow.  Here’s what I did:

I used one of the 2009-10 In Colors Dusty Durango to create the flower pot because, it’s very close to terra cotta in color.

I cut a 3-3/4″ x 8″ piece of the Dusty Durango and scored it at 1″, 4″ & 7″

I then placed the piece in the Petals-A-Plenty Textured Folder and folded it in a valley, mountain, valley fold as shown to the right.

Once that was done I cut 1/2″ in from each bottom side to the bottom of the score line to create the flower pots slanted sides.

I added a Scallop Punch Edge to the flower pot and held it closed with a piece of White Grosgrain Ribbon.

For the insert card I cut a 2-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ piece of Old Olive Card Stock. Using the Old Olive again, I cut a 4″ circle with my Circle Scissor, which I love for cutting circles. I cut the 4″ circle in half and adhered it to the Old Olive as shown. I used the half circle as a base for my flowers. I took a 2-1/4″ x 3″ piece of Whisper White Card Stock an layered it over the Old Olive for the greeting.

I stamped flowers and leaves from the Bodacious Bouquet Stamp Set in Old Olive, Pretty in Pink, So Saffron, Lovely Lilac and Baja Breeze Ink (available in July). I know the Bodacious Bouquet Stamp Set is retired but, I didn’t have any other set with big enough flowers. After stamping I cut each flower and leaf out and arranged (ha) them into a bouquet. On the card I stamped two leaves and the circle flower.

Here is the end result. A card well worth all the cutting and steps.
