It’s been a while since I’ve participated in the Operation Write Home sketch challenge and this week I decided to play! Of course I picked one of my busiest week, but hey, after all, this is a challenge! Here’s what I came up wit for sketch #236.
For this card I used the Stampon’ Up! Flower Patch stamp set, which has matching dies! What could be easier or more fun? I know the sketch shows a 2-1/2″ circle, but I used the largest flower from the stamp set, which just happens to be 2-1/2″. I lucked out. I started with a Strawberry Slush card base. See the sketch for all the card dimensions.
The background layers are from the Stampin’ Up!’s Park Lane Designer Series Paper. I chose the Old Olive floral print and colored in one flower with my Inktense Ink Pencils. I tried one with the new Blendabilities, but the designer series paper didn’t give me enough variation between the dark and the light shades I was aiming for. I added a scallop edge using the scallop edge punch.
I added a perfect greeting, from the same stamp set, in the new 2014 in-color, Mossy Meadow.
Every 2nd and 4th Saturday, Operation Write Home has a sketch challenge. This is the last one in the series, but the will begin with sketch #1, on Saturday, August 24. Now is a good time to jump to participate in the challenges. Here’s the link to this weeks challenge:
