Mixed Bunch Blossom Birthday Card: For Diane

Today is my sister-in-law Diane’s birthday.  This is the card I made for her using the Stampin’ Up! Mixed Bunch Stamp Set and Blossom Punch.

Stampin Up Mixed Bunch Birthday Card

For the base of the card I started with Elegant Eggplant Card Stock and layered it with Very Vanilla and the new fabulous Sale-A-Bration Designer Paper, called  “Sycamore Street” (FREE with any $50.00 purchase during sale-a-bration).

I chose the Summer Starfruit designer Sycamore Street paper because, yellow is opposite purple on the color wheel. Hence the two colors compliment each other.

Stampin Up Mixed Bunch On a piece of Whisper White I stamped the flower motif in Summer Starfruit and punched it out with the Stampin’ Up! Blossom Punch. I then punched another blossom out of Elegant Eggplant to achieve the shadow behind the stamped image.  The shadow was made from cutting apart the Elegant Eggplant blossom into sections.

I attached the blossom sections with a bit of SNAIL Adhesive. In the center, I place a Dahlia with a Glue Dot.

For the birthday greeting I used the “You’re Amazing Happy Birthday” new single stamp. I stamped it in Elegant Eggplant, but did not fully ink the stamp. I wanted a distressed look on the type as well as the card stock layer. Around the Very Vanilla, with a Sponge Dauber, I inked up the edge.

Double ribbon knot/bow

For the finishing touch, I wrapped Very Vanilla Seam Binding and Wisteria Wonder ribbon around card layers and tied a pretty knot using the two ribbons.

Happy, Happy Birthday Diane!

Thanks for stopping by.

Hugs,

Diane Caro, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator
