Many of you know that, while I am a teacher of paper-crafting, I’m also a quilter. For a long time now I’ve wanted to combine the two art forms. This is the card I came up with and hopefully it’s only the first of many, “Paper Quilted Cards.” This card was one of the projects offered at Sunday’s class. It’s a fun technique and the results are truly delightful.
The card is pretty straight forward. Cut a 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ piece of Wisteria Wonder (love this color) and scored it at 4-1/4″
Place the front of the card in the Framed Tulips Embossing Folder and ran it through the Big Shot.
Punch two 1-3/8″ Squares each, out of Calypso Coral and Early Espresso card stock and place the squares in the Petals-A-Plenty Embossing Folder and run them through the Big Shot.
Punch two 1-3/8″ Squares from Stampin’ Up! Berry Blossom Designer Series Paper. Cut all these two squares in half diagonally.
On a 1″ x 3″ piece of Early Espresso stamp “Happy Birthday” from the Perfectly Penned stamp set in VersaMark Ink and heat emboss it with White Embossing Powder and a Heat Tool.
Layer all the pieces as shown.
Play round with different quilt patterns and Designer Series Papers that resemble printed fabric.
Have fun with this one!
Hugs,
