On Friday I had my first workshop with Stampin’ Up! for kids! Years ago I held workshops and kids camps in my shop, “Romancing the Home.” It was a small and very special kind of two sided shop where I sold hand made items for the home on one side and on the other side I gave adult and children workshops. We did everything from painting, sewing. knitting. to floral arrangements. You name it we did it and the children classes did it all too. While Stampin’ Up! is featuring more and more for kids including The Build-A-Bear Stamp Set and promoting kids workshops, I have wanted to do kids workshops again since I became a demonstrator 2 years ago.
Below are the three attendees and the projects we made. I gave my girlfriend Nancy the banner we made before I got to photograph it. I will borrow it and photograph it and post it at a later date so check back.
Here are Brittany and Samantha:
And here is Taylor…
Below are the decorated boxes we made. I bought the boxes at one of the local craft shops. I measured the sides and the top of the box and cut out Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper. I had the kids adhere the DSP to the box. Using the Wagon Full of Love Stamp Set and Basic Black Ink I had the girls stamp an image of their choice on a piece of 3 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ piece of Whisper White Card Stock. Then they layered Green Galore Card Stock and the Whisper White Card Stock as follows. Using the Photo Corner Punch and Green Galore Card Stock photo corners were punched and adhered to each corner.
Here is a close up of one of the boxes. On the flower we used Crystal Effects and sprinkled on Stampon’ Up! Green Beads in the center of the flower. On the cupcake box Samantha used the beads as sprinkles! Aren’t they cute?
Here is the picture frame we made using the Build-A-Bear Stamp Set, Basic Black Ink, Markers and scraps of Designer Series Paper for the grass and clouds. The frames I had around the house from the dollar store.
Thanks for lookin’!
