Zentangle is an easy to learn method of creating beautiful images from repeating patterns. It’s a form of doodling. Who doesn’t like to doodle? Zentangle isn’t only fun, it’s also relaxing and addictive. It increases creativity and use very simple materials, such as pen and paper. I chose the Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set, because the rose image is a big outlined image with many small areas to doodle in.
Stamp Set: Fifthe Avenue Floral
Ink: Black Stazon
Card Stock & Sizes:
Whisper White 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″
Basic Black 5″ x 3-3/4″
Regal Rose 4-1/2″ x 3-1/2″
Whisper White scallop edge 3-1/2″
Other: Three Black Brads, Bird Builder Punch, Scallop Edge Punch, Black Marker, Black Polka Dot Ribbon
For this card I began by stamping the large rose from the Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set in Black Stazon Ink. I then cut the image out and began filling in each area with my Stampin’ Up! Black Marker. I used the small tip to create sm al repeating patterns until the rose was filled in.
I then adhered the rose to a piece of Basic Black card stock and cut the rose out again leaving a small black border so when placed on the Regal Rose it would pop.
Take the Scallop Edged piece of Whisper White card stock and adhere it to the Regal Rose along the 3-1/2″ side.
Wrap the piece of Black Polka Dot Ribbon around the Regal Rose near the scallop edge.
Layer the Regal Rose on the Basic Black card stock and in the bottom left hand corner place three Black Brads.
Adhere this layer on to the Whisper White card base.
With the Bird Builder Punch, punch out three of the leaves and stems. Adhere the rose with Dimensionals and place the stems underneath the rose in a pleasing manner.
