Fast & Fabulous Decoupaged Flower Pot…

Welcome Back Stampers & Paper-Crafters!

Today’s project comes just in time for your Spring gardening. These flower pots would love great on a deck, in a kitchen with herbs or in any other room with any kind of plant. These are great for gift giving as well. They would be wonderful as a Mother’s Day gift, which was my intention for you. I’m involved with so many projects this post is getting out later then I hoped it would. Maybe there’s still time for you to work on this today??

I believe the class loved making these for two reasons; one is they didn’t have to cut too accurately and second the results are pretty amazing. Another indicator, the class liked these, is they were super quiet when they were creating these masterpieces.

Fast & Fabulous Flower Pot

To begin this project you’ll need to have a terra -cotta flower pot.

Painting Flower Pots

With a sponge applicator, paint the  flower pot with white acrylic paint.

Stampiing Flower Pot Flowers

Tn a piece of white tissue paper, stamp the  flower base from the Fast & Fabulous Stamp Set  in each of the following colors, Regal Rose, Baja Breeze and Perfect Plum.  Stamp as many flowers that you need to go around the flower pot.

Then, in Chocolate Chip Ink, stamp the outline large flower on each flower center.

Fast & Fabulous Flower Pot Detail Once the ink has dried, roughly cut out each flower. It doesn’t have to be exact, because once you decoupage the flower down, the tissue paper edges disappear.  Using a decoupage medium as a glue, sponge some on the pot, and with your finger press a flower over the decoupage medium.  I love using my fingers, because I love peeling off the decoupage from my fingers! Then apply a coat of decoupage over the flower. Repeat this step moving around the flower pot, one flower at a time.

Fast & Fabulous Flower Pot Rim For the flower pot rim, I cut the long flower image to make shorter pieces and applied them in the same manner .

I loved using the Fast & Fabulous Stamp Set, because I wanted to achieve a water-color look. You can take this technique and use it with any stamp set. These would also make great teacher’s gifts. In the new Summer Mini Catalog, check out the Elementary Alphabet, For Teacher and School Colors Stampin’ Wheels on page 19. How cute would these be for your child’s favorite teacher?

If you want to place an order, I would love to be your demonstrator!

Thanks for stopping by and spending some time with me.

The Stampin’ Up! Fast & Fabulous Stamp Set is a Two-Step Stampin’ Set. Here’s how to do the “Two-Step!” Not the dance of course.

Two Step Stampin'

Create a single, multicolored image with Two-Step Stampin’--simply layer one image over another for fast and easy stamping with amazing results. The Two-Step Stampin’ logo marks these sets in the catalog.

Step 1: Stamp the base image in a light color.
Step 2: Stamp the outline image in a darker color.
