Elements of Style Brag Book…

Welcome Back Stampers and Paper-Crafters!

As you know I’m sewing cushions for my daughter and I’m happy to announce I only have one more to go. Woo-Hoo!  I promise to photograph them for you to see.

I’m posting a project we made in my Friday night’s class. This is a “So Simple” project and is perfect for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, end of the year teacher’s gift, and it would even make a great wedding or baby shower favor.

Elements of Style Brag Book

Here are the directions for this project:

Cut Blushing Bride Card Stock to 6-1/4″ x 4-3/4″

Scoring the Cover

Cut Basic Grey Card Stock to 9-1/4″ x 4-3/4″ and score it along the 9-1/4″ at 1″ and 2″

Stamping the Cover On the Blushing Bride Card Stock I  stamped the harlequin pattern with the Print Pattern Block Stamp in Blushing Bride Ink. I love using the same color Ink on the same color card stock when I want to add a little dimension to my card stock. You could use Designer Series Paper as well, but sometimes the DSP pops too much.

Adhering the Cover

Line up your stamped Blushing Bride Card Stock on the first score line and adhere it.

Cut two Top Note shapes with your Big Shot. Cut one in Basic Black and the other in Very Vanilla. Trim down the Very Vanilla Top Note along the perforated edge.

Top Note Detail

On the Very Vanilla stamp the large floral bouquet and the “Life is a matter of Moments” saying, in Basic Black Ink. I left mine black and white, but you can certainly color in the bouquet.

Envelope Detail

Along the spine of the Brag Book, wrap a piece of the Blushing Bride Stitched-Poly Ribbon. Take five Clear Envelopes and stick them to each other. The bottom one adhere to the bottom inside cover pushing it right up to the fold. Holding the Brag Book closed and using the Crop-A-Dile, punch two hole right through the ribbon and all of the Brag Book’s layers, including the envelopes. Place two  Very Vanilla Brads from the Hodgepodge Hardware Kit through the punched hole to hold everything in place.

On the two right corners of the cover punch two Photo Corners out of Basic Black Card Stock and adhere.

Tip Button

When stamping with a big block stamp, ink it and place the inked image side up. Place your card stock over the image and with your finger or bone folder rub across the inked stamp. Gently pull up the card stock. Stamping this way gives you an even coverage and it’s easy to center the image.

Thanks once again for stopping by.

Stampin’ Hugs,
