Welcome Stampers and Paper-Artists!
My weekend was spent partially sick fighting a Springtime cold or allergies and filling another order for my baby shower cards. If you haven’t seen the card you can view it here. The invitations are ready to be mailed tomorrow to New Orleans. When I first joined the Stampin’ Up! family, I never thought about all of the friendships being a demonstrator would bring, including yours. Thank you for following me along on this journey. You all should be applauded!
Now, that April is here, Easter is right around the corner. To get you in the mood, for making Easter Cards, here’s a card made using Stampin’ Up!’s Easter Blossoms Stamp Set.
For this card:
Cut a 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ piece of Daffodil Delight Card Stock and score it at 4-1/4″
Cut a 5″ x 3-3/4″ piece of Very Vanilla Card Stock
With a Coluzzle (retired) cut out two ovals. One from the Very Vanilla Card Stock and one from Soft Suede. (Coluzzle is the original template cutting system that Stampin’ Up! use to carry. The templates, cutting mat, swivel knife, and scoring tool let any crafter cut precise shapes and designs quickly and accurately. If you purchased one years ago from Stampin’ Up!, pull it out and play around with it. While I love the Big Shot from here to eternity, sometimes I like to layer shapes as in this card.)
On the Very Vanilla Card Stock stamp the branch and blossoms from the Easter Blossoms Stamp Set in Soft Suede Ink in the upper left hand corner. In the left hand bottom corner stamp, “Happy Easter” from the same stamp se,t also in Soft Suede Ink.
On the Very Vanilla oval, stamp the silhouette of the girl in Soft Suede Ink. Behind her, stamp a few of the blossoms.
Color in the blossoms using Markers or Colored Pencils.
Wrap an Antique Brad over a piece of Daffodil Delight 5/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon and wrap the ribbon over the piece of Very Vanilla as shown.
Layer the card as shown above.
Make this card, in the color combination shown, and/or in Pretty-in-Pink/Soft Suede, Baja Breeze/Soft Suede and Pear Pizzazz/Soft Suede. Send me a photo of your work, using Stampin’ Up! products and I’ll feature them on my blog!
I’m hoping, in May, to have a card challenge in which you can participate in making a card either in a certain color combination or card template design. I think it will be fun to see what you all come up with. You’ll have a month to complete your masterpieces and email them to me to publish on my blog.
Let me remind you again that I’m here for you. I’m here to share what I truly love to do and if I can answer any of your questions, just EMAIL ME or CLICK HERE to place an on line order. And…if you haven’t signed up to receive my newsletter, do so now, so you don’t miss out on exclusive projects only available to my newsletter subscribers. Just go to the sign-up box on my sidebar.
Toodles til’ next time!
