Delicate Doilies “For You” Card…

I don’t know about you, but I love this new Stampin’ Up Delicate Doilies stamp set! Today’s feature is a fairly easy card to make. I had great fun coloring in the open holes on the doily images.

Delicat Doilies 1

Cut a 5-1/2′ x 8-1/2″ of Wisteria Wonder card stock and score it at 4-1/4″

I chose Wisteria Wonder as the base for this card, because I felt this new In-Color is as delicate as the doilies are.

Cut a 3-3/4″ x 5″ piece of Whisper White card stock for the first layer Delicate Doilies & Wisteria Wonder Card

Cut a 3-1/2″ x 4-3/4″ piece of Crumb Cake card stock for the top layer.

On the piece of Crumb Cake, stamp several doily images in Versa Mark, sprinkle on White Embossing Powder and heat using a Heat Tool.

Stamp an uneven number of images for a balance, but not symmetrical look.

There are several ways you can color in your doilies. One way is to use your re-inkers by squeezing a few drops onto a palette Delicate Doiles Detail (plastic disposable plates work well) and with your Aqua Painter pick up some color and paint in the areas you want colored. Another way to color is simply with your Markers. The Markers give you a darker, more even color. The choice is yours. I used the Wisteria Wonder Re-inker and Aqua Brush method. The ink stays in each area because of the embossed raised outlines.

I layered the Crumb Cake on the Whisper White layer and wrapped the two layers with a Wisteria Wonder piece of Ruffled Ribbon. I made a separate bow and adhered it with a Glue Dot. Don’t you just love this ribbon?

On a scrap piece of Wisteria Wonder, I stamped in Versa Mark, “for you” from the Clearly for You stamp set and heat embossed it with White Delicate Doilies Bow:Message Detail Embossing Powder. With the  1-3/8″ x 5/8″ Small Oval Punch (retired), I punched out the message. Here’s another tool tip when wanting to punch out a shape on a small piece of card stock: just stick the card stock on a sticky note and slide it into the punch. Works every time. With the Scallop Oval Punch I punched out an oval out of Whisper White and in each scallop I pierced a hole with a Piercing Tool.

Here are some other samples using different colors. These would make great ornaments if you backed two of them and place a ribbon hanger in between. They remind me of stained glass windows.
