Wedding Cake Topper

Hi, everyone!

Todays post has little to do with stamping.  In fact it has nothing to do with stamping at all!  I hope you don’t mind me sharing the wedding cake topper I made for my daughter Meg and son-in-laws wedding.

Wedding Cake Topper

This is the wedding cake topper I made for the wedding. Meg looked around for a vintage cake topper, but none appealed to her or John.  She asked me to make her something with a vintage feel.

Believe it or not I started with a scalloped plastic candy cup. I used my Crop-a-Dile to punch two holes on each side and I simply threaded a pipe cleaner through each hole for the handle. I wrapped the handle with string pearls I had and began decorating the basket with small blue and white flower. I placed two doves in the basket and embellished it with Basic Pearls and a Whisper White Satin bow.

For Meg and John it’s exactly what they wanted!

Thanks for stopping by and if you haven’t signed up for my 12 Weeks of Christmas please do. It’s FREE. Just go go the the Welcome Basket, on my sidebar, to begin receiving Christmas Project Ideas next week!

Hugs,

Janet & Paul’s Anniversary….

I meant to post this card I made for my good friend’s Janet and Paul anniversary which was September 25 but I was still on vacation and our internet hook-up was slow.

DSC_0182

I cut a 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ piece of Baja Breeze Card Stock (retired) and scored it at 4-1/4″ I then cut a 5″ x 3-3/4″  piece of Whisper White Card Stock. On the Whisper White Card Stock I stamped the bird image from the Wings of Friendship Stamp Set in Soft Suede Ink. I wrapped a piece of the Soft Suede Polka Dot Ribbon around the Whisper White Card Stock and knotted it. I scalloped the edge of the Baja Breeze Card Stock with my Scallop Edge Punch. Using my Paper Piercing Tool I pierced a hole in each scallop and highlighted the edge with a White Gel Pen. I layered the Whisper White Card Stock onto the Baja Breeze, added blue rhinestones, which I had, and added 4 Soft Suede photo corner punches. Along the edge of the Whisper White Card Stock with my Soft Suede Marker I added dashes to resemble stitches. I adore blue and brown together. I hope you like this card too as it was for two very special people in my life.

Thanks for stopping by!

HUGS & Stamps.

Meg & John’s Engagement BBQ…

MEGAN ELISSA CARO & JOHN RICHARDSON MILLER are engaged!

THE VERY HAPPY BRIDE-TO-BE CAN HARDLY CONTROL HERSELF!

DSC_0095

Below is the invitation I made for the engagement BBQ. The day was for once, in a long time, SUNNY and was spent with family and friends. Thank you everyone for celebrating Meg & John’s engagement and such and adding to this  special occasion.

For the invitation I used Very Vanilla Card Stock and computer generated lettering.  I used the bird from Stampin’ Up! Carte Postale Stamp Set (retired) stamped in Baja Breeze Ink (retired) because Meg fell in love not only with John but, with that color in the last catalog.  Baja Breeze is one of the colors Meg chose for her wedding.

I embossed the top left corner of the invitation with the “Big Shot”  Textured Impressions Embossing Folder called “Elegant Flowers.”  If you haven’t bought the “Big Shot” yet you really should consider it. I use it for everything and it’s a cinch to use. Below is an enlargement of the embossing. Please excuse the color of the photo. I had my camera settings wrong but you can clearly see the embossing.

We scattered hand stamped paper fans on all of the tables. Again I stamped the bird from the Carte Postale Stamp Set in Baja Breeze Ink. On the bamboo part of the fan I stamped “We’re Engaged” from the Together Forever Stamp Set in Soft Suede Ink a new In-Color. Here is a picture of one of the fans:

John & Debbie’s Wedding Bliss…

Yesterday my good friends, John & Debbie got married! The day was perfect. It wasn’t too hot, there was a nice breeze and NO RAIN-a rarity around here. Their ceremony  was beautifully written by each other and John played the guitar and sang to Debbie. Like wise for their first dance John & Debbie danced to a recorded song Debbie sang. It was quite lovely and I was honored to be a witness to their marriage. Below is the card I made for them using Baja Breeze, Whisper White and Soft Suede Card Stock.

DSC_0032

The flowers are from the Echoes of Kindness and the greeting is from the Together Forever Stamp Sets. I colored in the flowers using my Aqua Painter and Baja Breeze Ink Pad. I know this color just retired but I love it. I used the Large and Wide Ovel Punches, two brads and a strip of  Soft Suede Polka Dot Ribbon to finish it off.

Thanks for stoppin’ by!

Hugs,,

Siggy-2
