Stampin’ Up!: Core-dinations

Stampin' Up! Core-dinations

Core’dination. What is it? How do I use this paper?

Q: I see in the Holiday Catalog some new paper called Core’dination. What is it? How do I use this paper?

Stampin’ Up’s regular cardstock has a solid color throughout the paper, so if you cut, rip, or tear it, the inside color is the same as the outside. The new Core’dination paper comes in three exclusive Stampin’ Up! colors (on the outside) with a coordinating monochromatic color on the inside layer. It comes in a 12 x 12 size, so it’s great to add to your scrapbook pages. The Core’dination cardstock has one smooth side and one textured side. So, you can stamp on the smooth side like normal paper. To reveal the coordinating paper underneath:

1. You can emboss the cardstock with an embossing folder or a texture plate. Then sand the embossed part to show off the underneath color.

2. You can also tear the edge to show off the core or simply sand the edges.

3. You can use your Simply Scored scoring tool or diagonal plate to create a pattern and then sand the raised scored lines.

4. Pull out your old Stampin’ Up! Crimper and crimp it.

5. Crinkle the paper by hand: wad up the paper, smooth it out, and sand the ridges.

6. Put chipboard words or images under the card stock and then sanded top of cardstock by pressing down. This is like dry embossing. It will reveal the pattern of the chipboard.

I hope this gives you a good start on how to use the new Core’dination Cardstock. Remember to make clean up easy, use the Core’dinations Dust Buddy to pick up all your sanding pieces.

National Craft Month: Stampin’ Up!’s Way

Stampin' Up! & National Craft MonthDid you know that March is National Craft Month?

National Craft Month has become an international celebration. Created by the Craft & Hobby Association in 1994, it was designed to help people learn about and re-discover the joy of crafting and all its many benefits. It’s the perfect excuse to indulge in all things crafty.
Here are my Stampin’ Up!  Rubber Stamping & Paper Crafting ideas for you to celebrate National Craft Month:

TEACH SOMEONE TO STAMP:  Everyone  can benefit from taking up stamping or crafting in general. We all have creative abilities. Take what you know and teach someone else, so they can enjoy the satisfaction and rewards that only being creative can fulfill. Better yet, become a demonstrator!

FINISH AN UNFINISHED PROJECT: Pull out all those half started projects and finish them. If you’re anything like me, you probably have pre-cut card stock, scraps of card stock and punched card stock lying around. Use these to complete a card or scrapbook page you’ve started. I know many of you, after a class, like to leave your coloring for home. Well, now is the perfect time to do all of your coloring! I just finished another Valentine’s Day Banner. Now I have two all ready for next year! After all I had all the parts cut.

LEARN & TRY OUT A NEW TECHNIQUE: Go to my Technique Tid-Bit category and try a technique you’ve never done before. You’ll be surprised at the fun you’ll have.

DO ONE EXTRA PROJECT: Make one extra birthday card or gift this month for a loved one. I’m holding two classes this month instead of one in celebration of National Craft Month.

STAMP WITH FRIENDS: Schedule a day to stamp with your family and friends. Have pizza delivered and make some cookies with the Stampin’ Up! Sweet Press Cookie Stamps. What could be nicer then stamping, pizza and cookies?

TAKE TIME FOR YOURSELF: Leisurely look through the Stampin’ Up! Catalogs and treat yourself to a gift of some new supplies.

TAKE A CLASS: Sign up for one of my classes this month. You still have time to sign-up for the Springtime and Easter Class.

May this post inspire you to go right now and pull out you stamps, ink, paper and to most importantly, “PLAY!”

Until we talk again, be well!
