Birthday Card: For Aly’s 21st

Aly's 21! Hooray Header

Hi, Stampers and crafters alike!

Today’s share is a card I made for my Goddaughter Aly for her 21st birthday back in February. Now, I know the die isn’t Stampin’ Up!, but I do love this die none-the-less. A lot of my Stampin’ Up! product is packed up and will be until we’re back home, so a girl has to do what a girl has to do. Or in this case, a girl has to use what a girl has to use!

Aly's Card Final

This is a pretty straight forward card to make. I find dies are a fast and easy way to spruce up any card, especially the intricate dies. Dies are great for children and for making multiples. Dies are, “So easy!”

For this card, a 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Strawberry Slush card stock was used. It was also scored at 4-1/4″

The first layer is Whisper White card stock and measures 5″ x 3-3/4″.

One of my favorite things about Stampin’ Up! is the way all the color families coordinate, designer papers included. I find mixing different patterns tie any design together. Because the colors coordinate, they work well together, as well as, being able to stand out on their own. I think mixing patterns is pleasing to look at when done well, so nothing competes. The All Abloom Paper Stack provides many wonderful patterns to mix and match. That’s why I chose to use them on this card.

Aly's Card Detail

The All Abloom Designer Series Paper was cut at 1″ x 3-1/2″ and 3-1/2″ x 3-1/2″.

For the seam where I matched up the two patterned papers, I adhered a 3-1/2″ piece of Strawberry Slush  Ruffled Trim (retired) to add a little softness to the card.

I cut out the Happy Birthday medallion from Whisper White card stock with the BIG Shot.

On the top of the medallion, I affixed a Whisper White bow.

This is the inside of the card. Of course it’s blank on the inside!
