To all you wonderful ladies who attended my “Open House.” thank you. The day really helped me to focus on how truly wonderful family and friends are. The day kept my mind off of Monday and more dreaded oral surgery! So again thank you!
Besides fun and food, we did manage to do a nice project and catalog tour. I was so surprised and thrilled that not a one of you did any whining about having to cut. For those of you unable to attend the Open House here’s the project everyone did.
This A, B, C Sampler was inspired my a counted cross stitch I did. I must say this paper version went a lot faster then the original cross stitch one.
I began this sampler by cutting the alphabet out, using the Big Shot and the Timeless Type Alphabet Die Set. This is a great project to use up all that scrap card stock you have. The picture to the right shows the cut letters in a compartmented tray that mini quiches came in. Next time you buy those frozen mini quiches save the tray they come in.
Then I stamped the following images in the colors indicated on a piece of Very Vanilla Card Stock. Once they were all stamped and colored I cut each image out.
A Acorns from Autumn Splendor in Cajun Craze
B Bee from Nature’s Walk in More Mustard
C Cherries from the new stamp set Cherish Friendship in Soft Suede
E Egg from Easter Blessings in the new In-Color Wisteria Wonder
G Goose from the new Cherish Friendship in Early Espresso Ink (I know this stamp is probably a duck, but I colored it in like a goose)
H Heart using the Big Shot and Scalloped Heart Embosslit and Blushing Bride Card Stock
K Key from Artistic Etchings in Versa Mark and Gold Embossing Powder
L Leaf from Fabulous Florets in Old Olive Ink
N Nest from Nature’s Walk in Chocolate Chip Ink
O Owl from Forest Friends in Creamy Caramel Ink (retired)
Other Owl from Inch by Inch in Soft Suede Ink
P Pigeon from a demonstrator incentive set, Cute & Classic in Basic Grey Ink
R Rooster from Rustic Rooster in Cajun Craze Ink
S Shell from Nature’s Nest in Creamy Caramel Ink
T Tree from Forest Friends in Old Olive and Chocolate Chip Markers
U Umbrella from Bloomin’ with Happiness (retired) in Old Olive Ink
W Wheel Barrel from Countryside in Basic Grey Ink
Once you have your alphabet and images cut, play around with the arrangement. Here are some samples of what the class did.
Here’s the counted cross stitch sampler that I stitched up and I used for my inspiration.
