Aly’s Sycamore Street Elephant Birthday Card

Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper

Today I’d like to share with you a birthday card I made for my Goddaughter, Aly who is celebrating her birthday today.  For this card I used a template of an elephant I designed for my grandson Jackson. I framed his version and will share the template with you in my March newsletter. Right now it’s about Aly and her card.

And, here it is…

Stampin' Up Sycamore STreet Sale A Bration Paper

For the base of the card I cut a 7″ x 10″ piece of Rich Razzleberry Card Stock and scored it at 5″, to create a 5″ x 7″ Sycamore Street Elephantcard. I then cut a 4-1/2″ x 6-1/2″ piece of Whisper White Card Stock. I adore the new Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper offered as a FREE item during Stampin’ Up! Sale-A-Bration. On the designer series paper I traced off the different parts of the elephant.  The elephant is made up of simple shapes, and maybe the photo of the card is enough for you to make your own template. If not, as I mentioned earlier I’ll share a framed version with you in my March Newsletter, where I’ll include a template.  Once the parts were traced, I cut them out, adhered them together and place the elephant on a piece of Mid-Night Muse Card Stock and cut around the elephant leaving a border.

Stampin' Up! Paper Daisies

For the flowers, I used the smallest flowers from the Paper Daisies pack.  I held each flower with a tweezer and dragged them along the Marina Mist, Rich Razzleberry and Summer Starfruit Ink Pads.  I place a dab of Tombow All-Purpose Glue where I wanted each flower head.  With an Old Olive Marker I made the flower stems. In the center of each flower I placed a Basic Rhinestone.

For the Happy Birthday message I used one of the two stamps in the Essentials Stamp Set. This set is offered as a set of two stamps and in Sweet Threads Bundle in the 2013 Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog.

Happy, Happy Birthday Aly!
