Good Monday Stampers!
As promised in my last post here’s another way to use your empty Stampin’ Up! embellishment containers. You can also order empty containers from Stampin’ Up! as well. The container hat idea isn’t mine. Earlier this Spring, I saw this idea and thought it would be a great party favor for a birthday, bridal shower, baby shower or in this case for the 4th of July.
For the bottom of the hat I used the Scallop Circle Die and the Big Shot. For the top of the container hat I punched a 2-3/8″ Scallop Circle and for the sides I cut a 1″ x 8-1/2″ strip and off of that I trimmed a 1/4″ off the long side. I cut the 1/4″ off so the lid will open and goodies can be placed inside the container. All of these were cut out of Poppy Parade Card Stock. I traced the lid on Pawsitively Designer Series Paper and cut the circle out for the top lid, because the 2-3/8″ Scallop Circle doesn’t quite cover the lid. I adhered all of the designer series paper and card stock pieces with Sticky Strip.
With Whisper White, Not Quite Navy and Poppy Parade Card Stock, I cut various flowers with the Birds and Blossoms Embosslit and the Big Shot. I layered the flowers as shown tucking in a small 2011 July calendar I had.
For the flag I stamped Stampin’ Up!’s A La Carte Stamp, “Land of the Free” in Poppy Parade Ink on Whisper White and cut it out. I inked up the corner of the stamp with the stars, with a Versa Mark Marker and sprinkled on White Embossing Powder and heated it. I cut out a small rectangle around the stars and adhered it to the flag. I placed Tombow Multi Purpose Glue on one end of a toothpick and stuck on the flag. Once the flag was dry, I carefully polked a hole in the top of the lid with my Paper Piercing Tool and stuck in the toothpick.
I really believe re-using these containers or ordering new ones, the hat ideas are endless. See what you can come up with and let me know if you need to order the containers. ORDER HERE.
Stampin’ Hugs to all of you!
