Celebrating Spring in a Flower Pot…

DSC_0398

Hello, Lakeside Stampers and welcome back!  This project is the last one from my Easter/Spring Class. I alway like to show how versatile Stampin’ Up! products can be. This small flower pot was purchased at a local store. You can use any stamp set you want depending on a theme, holiday or occasion. For this particular one obviously we chose an Easter Spring theme.

I first cut a template in a conical shape by rolling the flower pot onto a manila file folder and tracing the bottom part of the rim and the bottom of the pot.  Once I had the template I then traced that onto the Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper. I cut a 3/4″ x 12″ stripe to go around the rim and cut off the access.

For the images I stamped them from the Picnic Parade Stamp Set in Basic Black onto Whisper White Card Stock. I stamped each image about 10 times, one for each class attendee, and brought my original to the copy center and had a reverse copy made for the backs of the images. After hand coloring the images with my  Stampin’ Up! Markers, I cut both the front and back out, glued them together with the Tombow All-Purpose Adhesive, which by the way is terrific, and stuck a toothpick in between the front and back as shown to the left.

For the “Spring” banner I used computer generated type, cut close to the letters and glued it to the bunny’s banner.

The basket was done in a similar manner to the bunny and I added Easter eggs cut from Card Stock in Springtime colors. A bow was made out of Pretty-in-Pink Satan Ribbon.

The stamp of the mailbox in this set inspired me to make teeny-tiny mail boxes. Don’t ask me what I was thinking! After a lot of playing around this is what I came up with:

You can make these any size just play around with proportions I added real tiny branches gathered in my yard for the mailbox posts.

Thanks for stopping by and when you try this project, “Let the sky be the limit.” Isn’t that what they say?
