Blooming with Kindness: Triple Time Technique

blooming-with-kindness-header

Today I am sharing a technique called Triple Time Stamping. It looks very impressive and complicated, but it goes together very quickly. It’s also a lot of fun! This card starts with varying sizes of Whisper White or Very Vanilla and a colored card stock of choice. I used Very Vanilla and Elegant Eggplant.

The cutting dimensions are as follows:

Elegant Eggplant: 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″ Card Base

Very Vanilla: 4 x 5-1/4″

Elegant Eggplant: 3-1/4 x 4-1/2″

Very Vanilla: 3 x 4-1/4″

Elegant Eggplant: 2-1/4 x 3-1/2″

Very Vanilla: 2 x 3-1/4″

These layers are not adhered yet,

Layer the three pieces of Very Vanilla card stock on top of each other using a removable adhesive to hold the layers in place. The adhesive should go on the back. Stack the layers so that the smallest is on the top and so the layers stay in place when you stamp over them. Stamp your image(s) over all three layer at the same time.

Make sure you stamp the images on all three layers of Vary Vanilla. For this card, I stamped the Warmest Wishes sentiment first in Pool Party Ink on the smallest Very Vanilla layer and then stamped the flowers around it in Elegant Eggplant. Both the sentiment and the flowers are from the Blooming With Kindness stamp set.

Once you’re happy with your stamping, separate the Very Vanilla layers and adhere them to the corresponding Elegant Eggplant layers.

And the Triple Time Technique is that fun and easy!

Thanks for stopping by!

Embrace the day,

Stampin’ Up!: Easter Blessings Card

WORKSHOP CARD: Easter Blessings

Here’s one more card for you to make for Easter.  This card used a technique called, “Embossing Resist Technique.”  It’s simple to do, but when people look at the image they can’t quite figure out how it was done. Let’s get started.

Bloomin' with Kindness Easter Blessing

 Here’s what to do:

1.  Cut a 10″ x 7″ piece of Very Vanilla or Whisper White Card Stock and score it at 5″ This will give you a 5″ x 7″ card base.

2.  Cut a 5″ x 4-1/2″ piece of Certainly Celery Card Stock and run it through the BIG Shot with the Scallop Oval from the Ovals Collection. Then run it through again with the Lacey Brocade Embossing Folder.

3.  Cut a 4-1/2″ x 4″ piece of Wisteria Wonder Card Stock and cut it out with the next smallest oval.

Bloomin' with Kindness Easter Blessing4.  On a 3-1/2″ x 4″ piece of Very Vanilla do the following for the Embossing Resist Technique:

Ink up the flower stamp from the Blooming with Kindness Stamp Set stamp with VersaMark and stamp on the Very Vanilla Card Stock.

Pour White Embossing Powder over stamped image, making sure everything’s completely covered.

Tap excess powder off.

Heat powder with heat tool until it melts into a shiny image.

With Sponge Daubers, sponge ink over the card stock and image. Don’t worry about the ink going over the stamped image. The embossed image will resist the color, hence the technique, “Embossing Resist.” On this card, start with Wisteria Wonder in a circular motion, working your way outward. Then, on the top use Baja Breeze and towards the bottom Certainly Celery. If, by chance the embossed image does pick up a bit of color, wipe it off with a tissue Tada!

5.  On the bottom of the card ink up the Easter Blessing Stamp in Wisteria Wonder Ink and stamp it on the center of the card.

6.  To finish the card layer the ovals together with Sticky Tape and use Dimensionals for the Certainly Celery.

Easter Blessings!

Or brayer or dab on color before you heat emboss and these colors will show through the subsequent layer of color.
