Big Shot: Flower Daisies Die

Back before Easter, I ran across these Daisies made using Stampin’ Up! Big Shot Flower Daisies Die, now retired 🙁  I had all the card stock cut for a workshop that never took place, because of the house fire. On Sunday I pulled out the flowers and we made these fun daisies.

Big Shot Flower Daisies

For the daisy flowers you can use any color combinations. I used So Saffron, Perfect Plum, Pool Party, Very Vanilla, Garden Green and Island Indigo.

Big Shot Flower Paper DaisiesFor each daisy you need to cut two of all three sizes on the Big Shot Flower Daisies Die. For the smallest daisy I mixed two different colors. Adhere the same size flower to the other. Line them up, so the flower petals are in between the other. Punch out a 1″ Circle and adhere it to the back of the largest flower pair. I used Garden Green Card Stock for this. On the top of the smallest daisy adhere a 1/2″ Circle. Put all three flower sizes together with Dimensionals.

Take a wooden skewer and a Garden Green Marker. With the brush end of the marker color the skewer.  Rip some thin long leaves out of Garden Green Card Stock. Adhere them with a Glue Dot. Trim down the skewer, so all the daisies are different heights for visual appeal.

To assemble the flower, poke the wooden skewer from the back through the Dimensionals. Add a bit of Tombow Multi Purpose Glue to secure.

For the flower center punch out a 3/4″ Circle and adhere it with another Dimensional. Arrange all the petals either up or down for a natural look.

Try making these for center-pieces or leave the stems off and use the daisies to embellish your cards, boxes, scrap book pages or frames. These would make a great summer party favor. Just sayin’…

Wisteria Wonder: Sympathy Card

Sympathy Cards are the hardest cards for me to design and make. They have to be perfect, you know what I mean? Usually, sympathy cards are sent to someone you love and chances are the person you’re sending them for, you also knew or loved. This sympathy card was made for my sister-in-law Diane, who lost her sister Barbara.

Stampin' Up! Wisteria Wonder Sympathy Card

I used the terrific Twitterpated Designer Series Paper along with Wisteria Wonder and Whisper White Card Stock. The layered flower is made from Stampin’ Up! Paper Daisies, which I distressed and added color to, by using a Sponge Dauber and Wisteria Wonder Ink. I stamped a sentiment from one of my all time favorite retired stamp sets called, “Define Your Life.”   I finished this sympathy card off with Wisteria Ruffled Ribbon Bow.

Thanks for stopping by and remember to keep us in your prayers as we rebuild our lives after our house fire. Your stories have give me strength everyday.
