Painted Petals: You Are Amazing Birthday Card

Lisa's Lattice ~Work

Well, I used the Painted Petals stamp set once again for a very special birthday card, going to a very special person in my life; my cousin Lisa. Lisa celebrated her birthday back on February 18. For Lisa’s card I wanted to reflect all that is special about her. The sentiment fits Lisa perfectly. You’ll just have to take my word on that. I also chose a card with a very feminine lattice-work edge, along with the subtle Pistachio Pudding green and the pearl embellishments. It’s Lisa to a tee. Happy, Happy Birthday Lisa!

The lattice-work card used here is a retired card from the Simply Fabulous Simply Sent pack Stampin’ Up! offered back in 2013. I love the top layer so much I saved them and use them sparingly! You probably could make something similar using a BIG Shot and a border thinlits. I’ll have to play around with that possibility and see what I can come up with.

The stem and leaves were stamped first in the soon to be retired,  Pistachio Pudding ink. I found it easier to line up the flowers to the stem, then the other way around. I have to tell you the 2013-2015 In-Colors~Baked Brown Sugar, Strawberry Slush, Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding and Coastal Cabana are among my favorite colors, and I’ll be sad to see them retire this year.

The Painted Petals were inked up in Calypso Coral. This stamp set is not a solid floral stamped image. If you click on the image and look closely, once stamped, the petals really look as though they are painted on canvas. LOVE IT!!

The sentiment was stamped in a deeper and darker green called Mossy Meadow.

 The Finishing Touch:

I added a Pear Pizzazz little fork bow! Don’t know what a fork bow is check back next week for a tutorial. I shared this a few years ago at one of my workshops, but I’m sure you all can use a refresher.

And, finally five tiny pearly Pearls were added to all the Painted Petal centers.

What fun and how versatile this stamp set is.  If you don’t own one yet, make sure to order it!

Have a great weekend.
