Nancy’s Birthday…

My girlfriend Nancy and I have been friends for about 35 years. On Thursday it was Nancy’s birthday and here are the birthday cards I made her.  Her favorite color is purple and she is an avid gardner and bird lover-like me!

This card was made from Nellie the Nest Lady and old retired Stampin’ Up! set which I love and can’t seem to part with it. I had some purple rick rack ribbon and decided to use it  to frame Nellie.DSC_0160

Here is another angle of the card:

Here is the other crd I made for my mom to give to Nancy. I used  another retired Stampin’ Up! stamp set called Nesting Place. The background is Bashful Blue Card Stock with Brilliant Blue Ink that I sponged on using my Sponge Daubers.  For this card some of the leaves I stamped in Old Olive and some in Certainly Celery Ink directly onto the background card stock. Some  of the leaves I stamped on a scrap piece of card stock and cut them out.  The birdhouse was stamped in what else but Lavender Lace Ink,, cut out and attached to a cut out branch and held on by a small wire loop. For the sign I dragged a piece of Very Vanilla through Soft Suede Ink to resemble a little wooden sign and held it in place with a brad. See the detailed photo.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you love these cards as much as I loved making them for Nancy.

HUGS & stamps,
