Clipboard Calendar: August 2016

2016 Calendar Aug HeaderAugust screams Summer! And, Summer screams watermelon. I love this watermelon idea using the Work of Art Stamp Set. Not only can watermelons be made, but you can also make rainbows and very subtle or not so subtle backgrounds.

2. Using the same cleaned brush stroke image stamp it twice above the Mossy Meadow. Leave a strip of the Whisper White card stock showing. Stamp it in Strawberry Slush Ink to resemble the watermelon

March Calendar: “A Little St. Patrick’s Birdie”

DSC_0443

Above is the calendar we made in class for March.

RECIPE:

Stamp Set:         A Little Birdie Told Me

Ink:                      Always Artichoke

                                Basic Black

Paper:                 Whisper White: (8-1/2″ x 8-1/2″) and (7″ x 2-1/4″)

                                Certainly Celery Card Stock (8″ x 8″)

Certainly Celery DSP (7″ x 1″) plus scraps to punch out small hearts

                                Garden Green- 3 strips (7″ x 1/8″)

Bashful Blue Card Stock scrap for bird images

Accessories:    Heart to Heart Punch, Watercolor Markers, Brads for embellishments, Dimensionals

HERE’S WHAT I DID:

I tore the Certainly Celery DSP to resemble  grass or a hill, adhered it to the Whisper White Card Stock and stamped several flowers on the hill and background. I used markers to color in the flowers.  Then I stamped the two birds in Basic Black on Bashful Blue Card Stock and cut them out. Using the Heart to Heart Punch I cut nine small hearts out of various sheets of Certainly Celery DSP. I used three hearts to create the shamrocks and placed a brad in the middle of each. I put all the pieces together as shown above. I used Dimensionals for the birds.

Hugs,
