Day of Gratitude Birthday Card…

This is the birthday card I made for my Goddaughter, Carol. I chose the Day of Gratitude stamp set, becasue when Carol was born it truly was a Day of Gratitude.

This card really represents Carol, because the colors are rich, pure and a bit Bohemian.

I used Concord Crush as the card base and layered it with Whisper White and Cherry Cobbler card stock.

I hand-colored the large motif stamp from the Day of Gratitude stampe set by using the Huffing Technique.

The Huffing Technique is used when you want to ink your stamp up with several colors using Markers. Once the stamp is inked you then Huff on it. What it means is you breathe on a stamp to re-wet the ink with your breath. It’s the same theory when you fog up a window or mirror, so you can write your name on it with your finger. This works well when using non-permanent markers, such as Stampin’ Up!’s water based markers.

I cut out the motif, placed an Antique Brad in the center and adhered it with Dimensionals.

For the Happy Birthday greeting I used White Embossing Powder on a piece of Concord Crush card stock and layered it on a piece of Whisper White card stock. Before adhering the layers I wrapped a piece of Cherry Cobbler Quilted Ribbon around the layers and topped it with a loop bow.
