Chalkboard Technique: Lovely Lace Card

Lovely Lace Header

This technique is great to do on dark card stock. When we think of chalkboard, we think of black. For the card I chose Blackberry Bliss as the dark background and mixed it with Hello Honey,  to make the card a little less severe. With the Stampin’ Up!’s Chalk Marker this look is easily achieved. I couldn’t find my embossing Buddy, so my embossing powder was all over and the result wasn’t as clean as it could be. But you’ll still get the jest of this technique none the less.

Lovely Lace Card 1

 To begin:

~Cut a card base from Whisper White Card Stock at 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ and score it at 4-1/4″

~Cut the first layer of Hello Honey at 5″ x 3-3/4″ and a

~4-3/4″ x 3-1/2″ piece from Blackberry Bliss Card Stock

The Chalkboard Technique in 4 easy steps:

1.  Ink up one side of the Lovely Lace Embossing Folder with VersaMark. You need to ink up the side with out the Stampin’ Up! Logo.

2.  Stamp the Blackberry Bliss piece by using the inked up embossing folder as you would a background stamp

3.  Sprinkle White Embossing Powder and melt the powder with a Heat Tool.

4.  Color the embossed image in with a White Chalk Marker. To get variations in the white press the marker lightly as you color in some ares and heavier for other. Once some areas are dry you can go over that area for a more opaque color.

Finishing Up:

Stamp a greeting on the Hello Honey and punch it out withthe Extra-Large Oval Punch. Add a piece of Hello Honey Ribbon and layer the card as shown.
