Build-A-Blossom Square Card…

Hello, Stampers and Paper-Artists!

I’m excited to share this 5″x 5″ square Build-A-Blossom card with you. This was another card from my Stamp-A-Stack Saturday class. This card is very simple and so much fun to make, because you get to stamp an image, punch the image and layer them together to form a big, bold, beautiful blossom.

Build-A-Blossom Card
For this card I tried to think outside the box. Well, outside of the box for me. I usually don’t work with bright colors. For some reason I paired Tempting Turquoise and Poppy Red and I’m loving it. The colors remind me of a combination you’d see back in the 1950’s. I also chose to do a square card, because the blossom dictated a square to me.

To make this card you need to:

Cut a 5″x 10″ piece of Whisper White Card Stock and score it at 5″

Cut a 4-3/4″ x 4-3/4″ piece of Tempting Turquoise Card Stock

Cut another piece of Whisper White Card Stock at 4-1/2″ x 4-1/2″

Cut a 4-1/4″ x 4-1/4″ piece of Poppy Parade Card Stock

On a strip of Whisper White, stamp five of the largest detailed petal from the Build-A-B;ossom Stamp Set in Tempting Turquoise Ink.

Tip Button

Leave enough space to punch each petal and stamp them all in one direction. You’ll save paper if you stamp one up and one down, but you won’t be able to punch them out without punching through the one next to it.

Starting from the left and using the Blossom Petals Punch up-side down, punch each stamped petal.

From the red gingham Pawsitivley II Designer Series Paper, punch five of the small sized petals.

On a scrap piece of Whisper White stamp “thanks” from the FREE  Sale-A-Bration “So Happy For You” Stamp Set in Poppy Parade Ink and punch it out with the 1-3/8″ Oval Punch.

Build-A-Blossom Detail

Since we’re building a blossom, for the center of the blossom use a Build-A-Brad by punching out a 1/2″ Circle out of the Pawsitively II Designer Series Paper. Simply adhere the circle to the brad with Tombow Glue and place the acrylic adhesive bubble on top. I love these, because you can customize them!

To build the blossom, punch a 1-3/8″ Circle and using a dab of Snail Adhesive place the five largest petals equally around. Layer the small punched petals over the large petals. With a Paper Piercing Tool and Mat Pack pierce a hole through the center of the blossom for your customized Build-A-Brad.

Layer the card as shown above making sure to wrap a knotted piece of Tempting Turquoise Grosgrain Ribbon around the Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White and Poppy Red layers before adhering them to the Whisper White card base.

Have fun using this wonderful stamp set and matching punch. If you don’t have them as of yet EMAIL ME or place an on-line order. Don’t forget there’s only 3 more days until the end of Sale-A-Bration.

Thanks for stopping by.

Stampin’ Hugs,
