This card was made using Stampin’ Up!’s Sweet Center Cups from the Holiday Mini Catalog. I made the card with a movable bookmark so you could get at the without destroying the card. The bookmark simply pulls up to reveal the candy on the inside cover of the card. You can fill the cup with candy, confetti and even tiny trinkets. I saw only one other version of this card and I did not copy or case it. It’s just that great minds must truly think alike.
Here’s what I did:
I Cut a 12″ x 12″ sheet of Pumpkin Pie Card Stock in half to measure 12″ x 6″. No need to score because when you run the Card Stock through The Big Shot using the Shapers and Movers Die it atomatically will cut your paper to 12″ x 4 1/4″ for the card and score it. It’s a wonderful feature and comes out perfect every time!
Using the Sweet Centers Stampin Up Stamp Set I stamped the Halloween square in Lavender Lace Ink on Whisper White Card Stock. I cut out the image adding a 1/4″ border all around the image. The size is 3 1/4″ x 3 1/8″.
Then I cut a piece Basic Black Card Stock to measure 3 1/2″ x 3 3/8″.
I ran the Whisper White Card Stock through The Big Shot using the movable circle die. I cut a piece of the Stampin’ Up! Grid paper to help me line up the image with the circle die so the cut was exactly where the circle should be cut on the stamped image. It’s so simple and here’s what I did:
Once the circle was cut from the stamped image I adhered the Basic Black Card Stock to the back. I then, with the image side down lined up the cut out part over the circle die. It grips because you have it cut out with the Basic Black Card Stock as a backing. I ran both pieces the Whisper White and Basic Black Card Stock through The Big Shot again. Not moving the circle die I also ran the Pumpkin Pie piece of card stock through.
Here is a close up of the inside of the card with the bookmark pulled half way up to reveal the goodies inside the sweet centers.
Because the Sweet Treat Cups are clear I punched on Basic Black a circle with my 1 3/8″ Cirle Punch, lined up the Scallop Circle Punch over the 1 3/8″ inch hole, punched it and made the scalloped black border for the cup. Using the Photo Corners Punch I cut out two and adhered them to two corners of the card.
Look for the bookmark directions and more sweet rewards projects soon. “How Sweet It Is!”
