Here’s another quick share for you using the Owl Occasions Stamp Set. My computer is now accessible to me, so I’m hoping to post more frequently with what supplies I have available to me. We’re not in our house and probably won’t be until the spring. Not really what I wanted to hear, but we do have a roof over our heads and are grateful for that. Having access to my computer is a step in the right direction and it feels good and normal to me!
This is a birthday card I made for my husband John. I don’t have any masculine stamp sets with me, but I do have the Owl Occasions Stamp Set available and decided to use it for a fun card.
The card base was made from a 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Marina Mist scored at 4-1/4″ and used horizontally.
On a 5″ x 3-3/4″ piece of Whisper White I stamped the following:
The owl in Marina Mist and chest in Baja Breeze. The chest was stamped then cut out.
The branch in Chocolate Chip
The banner in Gumball Green
The balloons in Real Red & Summer Starfruit
The hats in Real Red, I stamped the hat twice on the owl’s head
Using my Stamp-a-Ma-Jig really helped align all the components such as the owl on the branch, the hanging banner, balloons and hats. For the balloons I used the MASKING TECHNIQUE found here I used the masking technique to bring the red balloon to the foreground and the yellow to the background. Before layering the Whisper White Card Stock I wrapped a Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon knot around it. On the banner tips I adhered Basic Rhinestones, not very masculine, but nice none the less!
Try a card or two using both Masking Technique and the Stamp-a-Ma-Jig! Send me what you do and I’ll feature it on my blog.
Thanks for spending some time with me.
