Pocket Topiary Card…

Welcome Stampers & Paper-Artists!

As I write this it is snowing once again. Grrrr. Here is a card you can make for so many occasions. It would make a wonderful wedding, Mother's Day or birthday card. Everything about this card screams feminine from the embossing to the dimensional flowers which make up the topiary.

Pocket Topiary Car

All products are Stampin' Up! and the adhesive I use is Snail Adhesive. To make this card:

Cut all of the following sizes out of Blushing Bride Card Stock.

A 5-1/2'x 8-1/2" piece  and score it at 4-1/4" .

A 5" x 3-3/4"piece and  emboss this piece with the Big Shot and the Petals A Plenty Embossing Folder.

A 3-3/4" x 2-3/4" piece.

Cut two 3-1/2" x 2-1/2" pieces and emboss one  with the Big Shot and the Petals A Plenty Embossing Folder.

Cut  a 3" x 4" piece out of Very Vanilla Card Stock.

Topiary Insert

On the 3-1/2" x 2-1/2" piece of Blushing Bride which wasn't embossed, stamp the leaf image from the Sweet Summer Stamp Set  in  Old Olive Ink. Hand color the leaves in with Markers or Water-Color Pencils.

Tip Button

Along the bottom of the card stock, turn the leaf stamp up-side down and stamp the stem as grass.

For the topiary top punch flowers out of  Very Vanilla and  Blushing Bride with the Trio Punch. With Tombow Multi-Purpose Glue adhere the flowers to a 1-1/4" inch punched out circle. The class did not like this part at all! No patience. But we had a good laugh over it and in the end they came out beautiful.

In the center of each flower place a Basic Rhinestone. Adhere this piece of Blushing Bride onto the Very Vanilla before you place the topiary on the leaf stem.

Form the pocket by layering, as shown in the photograph, making sure you only place adhesive along three edges of the pocket, so, that the top of the pocket remains open for the topiary card to slide into.

Wrap a piece of Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon around the pocket and with a separate piece of ribbon make a flat loop bow by looping one side then the other. Place a Glue Dot or adhesive in the middle of the bow for each loop. When finished with the loops, adhere onto the piece of Satin Ribbon and place a Basic Rhinestone to either side of the bow. Don't forget to tuck the topiary inside the pocket. I left this card blank without a message, but of course you can place any message you might need for your particular celebration.

Anyone would love to receive this masterpiece of a card.

See you next time!
