Hi, Stampers!

I hope your Mother's Day was as wonderful as mine was. What could be better then spending the day with your mother, daughter and grandson? NOTHING!!! It was heartwarming to receive a Happy Mother's Day card to Grandma! Well, today's share is a profile silhouette I made of Jackson for my daughter Meg as she celebrated her first Mother's Day.

1. Take a photo of the child or grown up you want to make the profile silhouette of. Make sure it's a side view with all of the features showing. The first few photos I took of Jackson missed his bottom lip.

2. Next you need to up load the photo from your camera or phone to your computer.

3. Then print out the photo on your home printer. The copy can be in color or black and white.

4. Now, simply place the photo over the Card Stock of your choice and carefully cut out the profile. Hold it in place with Dotto Adhesive or similar. For this one I used Basic Black Card Stock.

5. Purchase a frame, or adjust the size of your photo to match an existing frame. I had this 8" x 10" black frame and cut a piece of International Bazaar Designer Series Paper to fit the frame and use as the background.

This is such an easy and endearing gift to give anyone. My daughter loves hers! .

Thanks for stopping by!

Hugs,

This is a card I made for my cousin's son, Daniel, who made his Communion two weekends ago. I love this card, because it uses the Owl Builder Punch, not to create an owl! I'm always excited when Stampin' Up! tools and supplies can be used to create something different then what was intended.

Here's what to do to make this sheep card:

1. Cut a piece of 8-1/2" x 11" sheet of Whisper White Card Stock in half at 5-1/2", then score it at 4-1/4"

2. Cut a 5" x 3-3/4" piece of Pool Party Card Stock and run it through the BIG Shot with the Lacey Brocade Embossing Folder.

3. Cut a 5" x 2" of Midnight Muse and run this piece through the BIG Shot with the Vine Street Embossing Folder from the Sale-A-Bration Catalog. Carefully tear the top edge.

4. Cut a 5' x 1" piece of Gumball Green Card Stock and again with the BIG Shot run this piece through using the Chevron Embossing Folder. Cut along the top edge following the chevron pattern as a guide.

5. With Sticky Strip, adhere all three pieces of card stock as shown.

Now for the fun part…

6. Punch a Large Scallop Circle out of Whisper White Card Stock. Along the scallop edge pierce each scallop with the Paper Piercing Tool.

7. With the Owl Builder Punch, punch out all the owl parts out of Basic Black Card Stock. The owl's body will be used for the sheep's head, the two largest circles for his feet and the two smallest circles for his eyes.

8. With Whisper White Card Stock punch out the middle sized circles for the eyes and seven of the hearts.

9. With a piece of Whisper White Card Stock punch out three flowers with the Boho Blossoms Punch.

10. Glue the sheep together as shown adding a Whisper White Brad for his nose.

11. Make a pretty bow out of Pool Party Taffeta Ribbon and attach it with a Glue Dot.

This card can be made for a little girl's Communion as well, by simply switching out the Midnight Muse Card Stock for Pretty-in-Pink (soon to retire) and a pink bow.

Remember to make what you love, and to love what you make!

Hugs,

I don't know about you, but when I first saw this Swallowtail Stamp, I said, hmm,"That stamp is BIG!" I first thought it was too BIG to use on a card unless you used a portion of it. After awhile I found myself going back to it in the catalog with different ideas for using it and finally bought it. This is one of the many ideas I came up with. I wanted the Swallowtail to resemble cloisonne.

Cloisonne is an ancient technique for decorating metalwork objects, in recent centuries using enamel, and in older periods they used inlays of cut gemstones, glass, and other materials. The decoration is formed by first adding compartments (cloisons in French) to the metal object by soldering or adhering silver or gold wires. These remain visible in the finished piece, separating the different compartments of the enamel or inlays, which are often of several colors. Cloisonne enamel objects are worked on with enamel powder made into a paste, which then needs to be fired in a kiln.

I think this Swallowtail accomplished that with the compartments formed by Gold Embossing Powder! Place it in a pretty frame, as this one is, and you have another great Mother's Day gift!

Here's what to do to achieve a Cloisonne Swallowtail:

1. On a 5" x 7" piece of Whisper White Card Stock stamp the Swallowtail in VersaMark, sprinkle with Gold Embossing Powder and melt with a Heat Tool.

2. Now take Stampin' Markers and color in the Swallowtail's compartments with your choice of color(s). For my Swallowtail I chose a different color palette for each quadrant of the Swallowtail; Pinks, Blue/Purples, Greens and Orange/Yellow.

3. Once you finish your coloring, make sure you wipe the gold embossed areas with a tissue. Remember the Embossing Resist Technique? Well the same holds true here and the gold areas will resist the color, which also means the color will stay wet on the gold.

4. Once the Swallowtail is all cleaned up, cut it our carefully.

5. Choose a background card stock, I chose Certainly Celery, and place it in a frame.

Hope you enjoyed this project share, Now go and make an inspiration!

Hugs,

Here's a great Mother's Day Project to make with the kids! With a few punches, wide popsicle sticks and a small flower pot these are not only a cinch to make, but they're economical. These would be great on your Mother's Day table as place cards as well.

For this project you need the following:__________________________________________

Card Stock: 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" pieces of card stock ( I used Pumpkin Pie, Primrose Petals and Wisteria Wonder)

Punches: Stampin' Up! Blossom Punch, Fancy Flower Punch, Blossom Petals Builder Punch (For Leaves), 3/4" Circle Punch

Embellishments: Soda Pop Tops, 5/8" Whisper White Organza Ribbon, In-Color Dahlias

Non-Stampin' Up! :

3-1/2" Clay Flower Pot, Styrofoam Ball, Paper Grass and Wide Popsicle Sticks

Here's what to do:____________________________________________________________

1. Punch six flowers out of card stock. You need two of each color using the same punch. You want three pairs of flowers for the front and back of the popsicle sticks.

2. Run the punched flowers through the BIG Shot with an embossing folder.

3. Adhere the flowers on the popsicle sticks with All-Purpose White Glue.

4. For each flower center punch a 3/4" Circle out of Designer Series Paper, (I used Summer Smoochies) and adhere them to the flower centers.

5. On the top of the 3/4" flower centers, place a small Soda Pop Top and in the center of the pop top adhere an In-Color Dahlia with a Glue Dot.

6. With the Blossom Petals Builder Punch, punch out 12 leaves, Use a designer series paper with a green pattern. Glue the leaves together around the popsicle sticks.

7. Cut the styrofoam ball in half and glue it into the flower pot. Stick the popicile sticks through the styrofoam ball, then glue the top of the styrofoam ball and place some of the paper grass on it.

8. Around the top rim of the flower pot, cut a 12" x 1/2' strip of designer series paper. Over the seam place a pretty whit bow made from the Whisper White Organza Ribbon.

And there you have a darling flower pot to give as a gift just in time for Mother's Day!

Hugs,

Hi there stampers!!

This project was designed with Earth Day in mind. This adorable owl was made from some soup spoons I had and never used. I'm addicted to making these owls and I'm even working on a smaller version. These owls can be made with any Designer Series Paper to match your room decor. These owls make great shower favors and housewarming gifts as well. I'm giving one to my daughter and son-in-law, who just bought their first home!

These are quite simple to make and are done with the Blossom Petals Builder Punch! Here's what to do to make your very own Spoon Owl:

The first thing you need is a soup spoon. I used an oval and not a round. Just a tid-bit on soup spoons, the round soup spoon are used for cream soups or bisques and the oval for consume and broths. On the bottom of the spoon you need to drill three 1/8" holes and on the top of the spoon, one.

Place one split ring in each of the bottom three holes. These can be found at your local craft store in the beading section.

As I mentioned, you can use any Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper of choice. The photo shows the parts you'll need using the Blossom Petals Builder Punch. I punched three complete punches using two different Designer Series sheets. Make sure you have two matching wings. You won't use all the parts, so save them for future owls. The Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack (129312) only available until May 31, is perfect for this project because the sheets are 4-1/2" x 6-1/2". No need to use a 12" x 12" sheet this way..

Adhere the owl parts with Glue Dots as shown in the photo, For the owl's eyes I used two Soda Pop Tops, a 1" Circle punched from Stampin' Up! Glitter Paper and a 3/4" Circle punched from Basic Black Card Stock. To adhere the Soda Pop Tops to the spoon Crystal Effects was used. Dimensionals were used to pop the black circles.

Remember those three jump rings? Well, on each jump ring thread some seed beads on to wire or head pins and when finished beading, loop them through the split rings.

And, there you have a Blossom Petals Punch Spoon Owl.

Send me photos of your owl projects and remember, to "Make what you love and love what you make!"

Hugs,

$30.00 of FREE PRODUCT:April 15~May 30, 2013

There are two ways to earn $30.00 of FREE product~ Join Stampin' Up! during the promotion dates and receive an additional $30.00 in your starter kit OR Host a $350.00 party and receive $30.00 of FREE product!

I remember when my friend Freddie dragged me to a Stampin' Up! workshop. It was during a time in my life I had stepped away from my passion of creating. So, here we were at a workshop when shortly after on impulse I joined Stampin' Up! I had fallen in love all over again with paper, stamps and ink.

After becoming part of Stampin' Up!, thanks to Freddie, I discovered myself once again. Because I have access to exclusive resources such as Stampin' Connection, Stampin' Success Magazine, Stampin' Up! Events I found myself becoming a better paper~crafting artist. One of my favorite perks as a demonstrator is that I can see and pre~order new products before a catalog is released. But, above all that I've mentioned my most rewarding part of being a demonstrator is the new friendships I have made by sharing what I love to do.

So, you're probably saying to yourselves,"Enough already Diane!" But I'm sharing my Stampin' Up! story with you because maybe you've considered joining, but you're not sure you want to be a business builder Stampin' Up! Demonstrator.

Well when I first joined I joined as a Hobby demonstrator. I simply wanted the great exclusive Stampin' Up! product for the 20% discount. I figured I'd be buying product anyway.

But, now if you join Stampin' Up! you have even greater options then I did when I joined. YOU get to choose what you want in your STARTER KIT – including items from the upcoming Sneak Peek from the New Catalog ~and during the promotion dates, Stampin Up is going to give you an extra $30.00 to spend.

Should you decide to purchase JUST the starter kit, you CAN. There's NO requirement to purchase anything further, host parties and no penalty if you drop. It's a risk-free test drive of demonstrator benefits through October 31, 2013 (includes from the time you join through the first FULL Stampin' Up! quarter plus a pending month in October to catch up if you choose to remain active).

Many Stampin' Up! demonstrators are hobby stampers~probably much like you. However, they continue to renew ($300 in sales every quarter) by purchasing products for themselves and/or turning a few friends and family into customers.

You might decide to try the business side of Stampin' Up! I'm ready to help

Join Stampin' Up! April 15 – May 30, 2013

~Spend $99 for the kit and get up to $155 in product (that's $56 in free product–a extra $30 in free product during this offer)!
~Build your kit by choosing from available Stampin' Up! products in any current catalog or product promotion (including "Best of 25 Years Stamps" and limited time single stamps), My Digital Studio, the clearance rack and specially priced bundles!
~The kit ships FREE! (another 10% savings)
~Save 30% on your first demonstrator order of $150 or more (before shipping and tax). Must be placed within 45 days of purchasing the starter kit. It's the perfect time to fill your wish list for less.
~Enjoy 20% off on all other demonstrator orders while active.
~Pre-order select products from the new catalog starting 4/24. Everyone else has to wait until 5/31!

So if you ever wish you had more money to spend on Stampin' Up! products? Consider it done.

Host a Party April 15 ~ May 30, 2013

Hostess offer: If they host a $350 party they'll earn an additional $30 in FREE products!

Dates: April 15-May 30, 2013 (yes, it ends the day before the last day of the month)

The Fine Print

All order types qualify for this promotion (customer, demonstrator, workshop, or online).

Hostesses may use their additional hostess dollars on any current catalog merchandise.
