Where did June Go?

I can’t believe June has come and gone! For me June was jammed packed with family and friend events-all good. I also took and continue to take coaching classes for my stamping business with John Sanpietro.  I have learned much and hope to apply what  I have learned to benefit both you and myself. John asked why am I doing what I’m doing and what my goals are? He also said that certain systems need to be in place before any business can run properly.  Ultimately I do what I do to share and inspire you. For those of you just beginning this stamping, card-making, paper-crafting and scrap-booking journey I hope my designs and techniques will inspire you with your projects. After all who doesn’t like to receive a hand-made card for any occasion or holiday?

By now most of you should have received your new Stampin’ Up! 2010-11 Idea Book and Catalog. I’m so excited about all of the new product in this catalog. Stampin’ Up!, once again, has managed to deliver great rubber stamps, papers, embellishments and color families. This year the color families are all renovated. In the past Stampin’ Up! issued 6  In-Colors every year. This year Stampin’ Up! issued 5  In-Colors, 6 New Colors and 7 colors were brought back. To help clarify the colors and “Special Order Bundles” you can click on the “Color Retrofit Kit” button in my right hand side bar.

These are the 2010-11 IN-COLORS: Pear Pizzazz, Blushing Bride, Peach Parfait, Poppy Parade & Concord Crush.

For all Beginning Stampers: Basic Supply Suggestions

Starter kitToday is the first day you can place an order from the new catalog. For those of you just starting out I put together a basic supply kit for you. Sometimes there is so much in the catalog, and while that’s a good thing, it can be overwhelming if you’re a new stamper. You can also join the Stampin’ Up! family and order the Standard Starter Kit on pages 8 and 9 of the 2009-10 Idea Book & Catalog. Contact me for details. On July 10 I’m holding an “Open House” when I will give a catalog tour and offer a “Make n’ Take.”  You can check out my event calendar on my Web-site at: lakesidestamper.stampinup.net where you can also place an online order 24-7. Look for samples using all the new “In Colors.” I hope this gives those of you interested a good starting point.

Hugs

Meet the New In-Colors…

DSC_0603
Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, Dusty Durango, Soft Suede, Bermuda Bay

I am most excited about the new IN-COLOR Write Markers! Here they are:
DSC_0604
As for all the IN-COLRS here the are Individually:

Meet RICH RAZZLEBERRY:
I’ve decided to include a recipe here because Razzleberry is not a real berry but, it is a pie. The term Razzleberry is a pie made with a combination of berries- blackberries and raspberries (sometimes strawberries are also used) baked in a pie.  Here is the recipe, for the pie not the card….

RAZZLEBERRY PIE:

Pint of Raspberries
Pint of Blackberries
1/3 Cup Sugar
3 Tablespoon Flur
Ready made Pie Shell (with 2 crusts)

In a bowl mix fruit, sugar and flour together.
Pour into bottom pie shell. Cover with the other pie shell and cut design on top.
Seal edges of top and bottom pie shells with water.
On top brush with milk and sprinkle with sugar.
Cover the edges of pie crust with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes at 400.
Remove foil and bake an additional 10 minutes or until crust is golden in color.

We always have a great lantern on our deck during the summer and usually make a trip to Chinatown to buy it.  Here is the card I made using the new IN-COLOR Rich Razzleberry:

DSC_0595
Isn’t the color terrific?  Rich Razzleberry is vivid, warm, and expressive. This exquisitely juicy color has an elegant flair about it. It’s PERFECT!

Meet  DUSTY DURANGO:

DSC_0590
There’s only one word I can think of for Dusty Durango and that’s Rustic! Combined with Soft Suede it makes an irresistible earthy combination.

Meet SOFT SUEDE:

DSC_0593
Soft Suede is a gentle and smooth color which is trendy yet, subdued and neutral. This color will be comfortable with any other color. I keep touching it because it looks like, you got it, suede!

Meet CRUSHED CURRY:
I didn’t use Crushed Curry for the text because it was simply too  hard to read. But the card says it all. Here’s a little tid-bit on curry. The curry plant is not where curry comes from. Curry is actually a blend of many different herbs and spices and these blends vary from region to region. Spices such as ground cumin, ginger, corriander, cinnamon, turmeric,  cardamon, mustard.. I could go on but I think you get the general idea. The curry plant itself if used in food is done sparingly. The plant resemble the leaves of rosemary, likes warm and dry places, has a yellow flower and is native to Turkey.

DSC_0597
Overflowing with spices Crushed Curry is bold and exotic. Combined with another color it will heat up any project for an electrifying look that’s bursting with color.

Meet  BERMUDA BAY:
DSC_0592
Bermuda Bay is reminiscent of tropical beaches and playful afternoons in the ocean. For a cool breezy look for ant project use Bermuda Bay!

Meet MELON MAMBO:
While I’m not promoting drinking, I thought it was interesting that there is an actual drink called, “The Melon Mambo!” Here’s what’s in it:

Melon Mambo Tequila Cocktail:
1 oz. Melon Liquor (Midori)
1-1/2 oz. Whit Tequila
1-1/2 oz. Coconut Cream
1/2 oz. fresh squeezed Lime Juice
Lime Slice

Combine all ingredients and pour over ice.
Sprinkle with toasted coconut and garnish with a lime slice.

DSC_0594
Melon Mambo is refreshingly rhythmic-it almost makes you want to dance. This bright hue is tropically romantic, fresh and vibrant.

All of the above cards were done with Whisper White Card Stock combined with each new In-Color. For the lanterns I used a new stamp set called, Circle Circus Stamp Set,  which by the way  I LOVE! A new punch called Modern Label Punch was used for the “Happy Birthday” greeting. The lanterns were put together with punch outs from the Designer Label Punch, Modern Label Punch and black button thread.
This card will be a part of The Garden Class I am offering on July 17.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hugs,
Siggy-2
