Below is the card I made for Sami using the Pony Party Stamp Set.

I cut Stampin’ Up’s new In-Color Bermuda Bay  Card Stock 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″. I then scored the 8 1/2″ side in half.  I cut the Melon Mambo Card Stock, another In-Color, to 4 1/2″ x 3 1/4″. On a 4″ x 2 3/4″ piece of Whisper White Card Stock I stamped the pony from the Pony Part Stamp Set in Basic Black Ink. I masked the pony by stamping another pony image on a plain white sheet of paper, cut it out and overlayed it over the pony on the Whisper White Card Stock. I then stamped the wings in Basic Black Ink and lifted the mask. Using my  Stampin’ Up! Watercolor Pencils I colored in the pony and mane. I cut a 4″ x 2 3/4″  strip of Bermuda Bay Card Stock and scalloped along one the 4″ edge using the Scallop Edge Punch. I stamped “Celebrate” from the All Year Cheer I Stamp Set (retired) in Versa Mark, sprinkled White Embossing Powder over it and heated it using a Heat Gun. I put the card together by layering the Bermuda Bay scalloped strip to the top of the Whisper White Card Stock  and then the Whisper White onto the Melon Mambo piece of card stock. I wrapped a piece of Polka Melon Mambo Ribbon around the bottom then attached all to the Bermuda Bay. What girl, woman doesn’t like glitz? So, using my Two-Way Glue Stick and Dazzling Diamonds that’s exactly what I did-added glitz!

Thanks for stopping by.

Just Between Friends

This turned out to be a crazy weekend, but none the less it was great fun. We had company from Thursday to Sunday  and then we had a birthday party to go to on Sunday afternoon. I don’t like putting a lot of personal posts up but I still try to tie business in with whatever card I make for the occasion. Besides, the kids and their moms love to see them on the blog and I could use the traffic.

Below are my future son-in-law’s sister Janine, her husband Mike, Benjamin (2) and Ryan (6 weeks old). They drove up from Virginia on their way to Boston.

Meet the New In-Colors…

Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, Dusty Durango, Soft Suede, Bermuda Bay

I am most excited about the new IN-COLOR Write Markers! Here they are:
DSC_0604
As for all the IN-COLRS here the are Individually:

Meet RICH RAZZLEBERRY:
I’ve decided to include a recipe here because Razzleberry is not a real berry but, it is a pie. The term Razzleberry is a pie made with a combination of berries- blackberries and raspberries (sometimes strawberries are also used) baked in a pie.  Here is the recipe, for the pie not the card….

RAZZLEBERRY PIE:

Pint of Raspberries
Pint of Blackberries
1/3 Cup Sugar
3 Tablespoon Flur
Ready made Pie Shell (with 2 crusts)

In a bowl mix fruit, sugar and flour together.
Pour into bottom pie shell. Cover with the other pie shell and cut design on top.
Seal edges of top and bottom pie shells with water.
On top brush with milk and sprinkle with sugar.
Cover the edges of pie crust with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes at 400.
Remove foil and bake an additional 10 minutes or until crust is golden in color.

We always have a great lantern on our deck during the summer and usually make a trip to Chinatown to buy it.  Here is the card I made using the new IN-COLOR Rich Razzleberry:

Isn’t the color terrific?  Rich Razzleberry is vivid, warm, and expressive. This exquisitely juicy color has an elegant flair about it. It’s PERFECT!

Meet  DUSTY DURANGO:

There’s only one word I can think of for Dusty Durango and that’s Rustic! Combined with Soft Suede it makes an irresistible earthy combination.

Meet SOFT SUEDE:

DSC_0593
Soft Suede is a gentle and smooth color which is trendy yet, subdued and neutral. This color will be comfortable with any other color. I keep touching it because it looks like, you got it, suede!

Meet CRUSHED CURRY:
I didn’t use Crushed Curry for the text because it was simply too  hard to read. But the card says it all. Here’s a little tid-bit on curry. The curry plant is not where curry comes from. Curry is actually a blend of many different herbs and spices and these blends vary from region to region. Spices such as ground cumin, ginger, corriander, cinnamon, turmeric,  cardamon, mustard.. I could go on but I think you get the general idea. The curry plant itself if used in food is done sparingly. The plant resemble the leaves of rosemary, likes warm and dry places, has a yellow flower and is native to Turkey.

Overflowing with spices Crushed Curry is bold and exotic. Combined with another color it will heat up any project for an electrifying look that’s bursting with color.

Meet  BERMUDA BAY:
DSC_0592
Bermuda Bay is reminiscent of tropical beaches and playful afternoons in the ocean. For a cool breezy look for ant project use Bermuda Bay!

Meet MELON MAMBO:
While I’m not promoting drinking, I thought it was interesting that there is an actual drink called, “The Melon Mambo!” Here’s what’s in it:

Melon Mambo Tequila Cocktail:
1 oz. Melon Liquor (Midori)
1-1/2 oz. Whit Tequila
1-1/2 oz. Coconut Cream
1/2 oz. fresh squeezed Lime Juice
Lime Slice

Combine all ingredients and pour over ice.
Sprinkle with toasted coconut and garnish with a lime slice.

Melon Mambo is refreshingly rhythmic-it almost makes you want to dance. This bright hue is tropically romantic, fresh and vibrant.

All of the above cards were done with Whisper White Card Stock combined with each new In-Color. For the lanterns I used a new stamp set called, Circle Circus Stamp Set,  which by the way  I LOVE! A new punch called Modern Label Punch was used for the “Happy Birthday” greeting. The lanterns were put together with punch outs from the Designer Label Punch, Modern Label Punch and black button thread.
This card will be a part of The Garden Class I am offering on July 17.

Thanks for stopping by.
